It's apparent that the premiere team in the NFC East is now the Dallas Cowboys, America's Team. Romo to Miles Austin is beginning to resemble Montana-to-Rice, while the bend-but-don't-break defense contained Donovan McNabb and shut down the Philthydelphia Fagles running game.

At the mid-point of the season, the truly great teams are beginning to emerge. The traditionally lowly New Orleans Saints is having a magical season unseen in their lackluster history (though they are starting to crack under the unfamiliar pressure of actually winning games for once). the New York Giants and the San Francisco are being exposed for the flashes in the pan they really are. Once the weather gets cold, Brett Favray will tear something else and the Vikings will come crashing to earth.

Wise men still follow the Star.

Your team hasn't won a playoff game since 1996, your team shows promise every year only to collapse, and yet you guys still get your hopes up year after year. I love hearing how great Romo is and then watching him collapse year after year. I tell ya, as much as I hate the Cowboys I love the Cowboys fans, you guys are very entertaining. I'll wait patiently for the approaching Dallas meltdown which I know surely will come like clockwork.

..or a Johnny-come-lately frontrunning Aints fan. At least the Cowboys have risen high enough to melt down. For about 40 of the 43 years, the Aints haven't even gotten high enough consider choking. When your greatest moment is still an amputee on a 2-win team hitting a 63 yard field goal 40 years ago, you know you still gotta lot of ground to cover.

Problem is, I'm not one of them. I'm not a Washington fan either, although they do have a lot in common with the Cowboys.
