Or, as your old coach used to say, that's baseball. A pitcher hits his spots and a few hits find holes, and you have the difference between a win and a loss.

By the way, your pitching may not be up to SEC standards, but your hitters are very much SEC caliber. To win a game, all it takes is a decent outing from one of your pitchers, and you have a chance with anyone due to your bats.

Its the reason the can really suck at (or most) times. Its the reason OM has won a lot.

Whitney has out-pitched Pomeranz tonight and that's the difference. They are much more talented than we are. But our pitching has been better tonight than theirs.

Whitney has thrown 116 pitches, and he's still running him out there for another inning.

ETA: Not just the pitch count, but you could tell Whitney was gassed in the 7th. Surprised he went back to him, even though I know your pen has struggled.

You think overthrowing Whitney is bad? Just wait until you see what Cohen does to a box of live kittens. I wouldn't worry about it anyway, we're about to blow the lead like always.

what you are saying is all the comments about the players talent, lachers comments about lack of heart, etc, blah blah blah, doesn't count if we happen to pitch and hit like tonight.

shut the <17> up. Your coach is thinking about pitching a guy with a hurt arm on Sunday against the worst team in the SEC with no Sunday starter.

Have you seen Sam Dyson's pitch count? Austin Hyatt's?

Throwing 120-130 + is absolutely no big deal anymore. Especially when you are throwing junk like Whitney.

I'm pretty sure we won't be pitching anyone with a hurt arm. If Bittle's arm is still hurt, he won't be throwing.

I would've sent him out. As a matter of fact, I told the guys I am sitting with that we send him back out, before it televised. 116 pitches is fine. Especially on a pitcher that doesn't throw 90 consistently and isn't a big guy, he doesn't have a big mid section or legs. The guy throws mid 80's. He threw 125 give or take.

I don't trust our bullpen. I have no problem with this. I was willing to let him play the 8th until he got shelled. I like Houston kinda, but at the same time, I hate depending on Houston. He did a hell of a job tonight and won. No complaints. Housont pulled us through.

it's the deliever that makes or breaks down a pitcher. No way Whitney got over thrown tonight, yeah he got tired but they took him out at the right time. Not only that, he hasn't thrown much lately and sure as hell want be throwing much after next weekend.

for most pitchers, as far as a max. 125 is nothing. That amounts to one more hitter, maybe two.
