How did we end up with a basketball slate like this..

After We play Auburn Saturday....

Thursday Ole Miss ,
Saturday Georgia,
Tuesday at LSU...

That should be 3 very winnable games, but playing them in 6 days with a 6-7 man rotation means we will probably drop the LSU game. I was worried about that one on fresh legs, much less 3 games in 6days. Is that common for every team to have a stretch like that?

Got to figure out someone, anyone, just a warm body to give a couple minutes. A 7 man rotation isn't going to cut it. This team lives and dies through Dee and he's bound to wear out. Not to mention Sid isn't exactly the prototype minute logger. We're eventually gonna have to roll the dice on someone to at least take up space as an 8th man and hope he doesn't screw up for a minute or two.

Apparently Stan's doesn't think he's ready. We really need Shaun Smith to step up, but I'm starting to think that will never happen.

. . . then it looks like more than just Devonta Pollard will need to be front and center on our radar screen. We are about to go into a major rebuilding mode, given that only Hood, Steele, and Lewis will be the only returning starters or contributors.

Scholarships to fill: Bost, Bryant, Moultrie, Sidney (buh-bye, RSS), Long, Gardner, and possibly Smith & Smith. We have Gray, Hardwick, Sword, Thomas, and Ware coming in. Thus, we have, as a minimum, one more to sign, but very possibly three depending on the non-brothers Smith. That's just nuts and can't be good with chemistry. With the notable exception of Hood, last year's recruiting class is trending to an epidemic disaster. Here's hoping that our Euro Zeidaks can contribute and do it quickly (still surprised he's hanging around). Also, I would think we'd want to look at any capable JUCO big men, assuming any exist we could get.

Not sure how this year plays out, but next year looks very bleak. Enjoy Bost and both Moultrie Knees as long as they last.

If we get Pollard, it won't be rebuilding at all. Will we be as good as this year? I doubt it, but there are always going to be some ups and downs in college basketball.<div>
</div><div>If we can figure out Deville's issues, we'll have this rotation:</div><div>
</div><div>PG Deville Smith</div><div>SG Jalen Steele</div><div>F Rodney Hood</div><div>F Devonta Pollard</div><div>C Wendell Lewis</div><div>
</div><div>with a bench of:</div><div>Gavin Ware</div><div>Kristers Zeidaks</div><div>Josh Gray (who is a major steal)</div><div>Craig Sword (also underrated)</div><div>Roquez Johnson</div><div>Fred Thomas</div><div>
</div><div>That's not a team that will compete for an SEC title, but I think Hood is going to explode next year, and Gray and Sword are very talented guards who could easily see a lot of playing time next year, with or without Deville. Add Pollard, and that's a very talented group. The frontcourt will be a question mark, but after seeing recent video of Gavin Ware, I think he's ready to see significant minutes immediately, and I liked what I saw of Zeidaks in the scrimmages. That's a team that would have a shot of being above .500 in the SEC.</div>
