How did we win that game?

Sidney was terrible on defense, and we couldn't stop them from getting an offensive rebound. If Kodi and Deeplay like that every game, we can win the West and make a run in the tournament. Kodi played awesome. Really clutch FT shooting, and 2 great offensive moves to set himself up for those FT's. Good win for us.

the glass and the inside but we wouldn't be able to buy an outside shot and would consistently brick free throws.

We were lucky to win this one.

is that the last 8 minutes of the game Florida couldn't buy a shot. If we don't figure out somebody on our team willing to get a defensive rebound we are still going to have some ugly games. You can't just give teams shot after shot on their offensive end and expect to win most games.

But some of those shots were contested and the fact Florida couldn't shoot free throws helped too but nobody felt sorry for us when we couldn't shoot so it is what it is. Nice win and the post is correct, if we get these kind of efforts the rest of the way we will do better. Bost makes a whale of a difference and anybody who thinks Sidney isn't a load to handle knows nothing about basketball. Great win for dogs

..I see Florida as being the same level of talent as Vandy, & Vandy didn't go cold @ the end.

(I suppose Stansbury would claim stout MSU defense caused UF to get tired @ the end. I'll just say I'm glad as hell UF went cold @ the end & leave it at that).

in this team's future unless it can win the SEC Tourney. We are too far down now even with a strong finish. The NIT will be our tourney this season. I wish it were different but RPI plays too big of a role now. The team that is hot at the end cannot make it if the RPI isn't there to back them up. I do not like the system but it is what is.

That's just plain stupidfor anyone to eventhink about right now. I was talking about the SEC Tournament. There isn't one dominant team in the SEC, so it's anybodys tournament. If our team can get momentum from this win we can win it. We should have beaten Vandy, and we did beat UF, and those are 2 of the Top 3 in the conference with the other being UK.

definitely doesn't play great overall defense, but what some of you appear to think is bad defense is actually smart defense. It's obvious by now that officials are going to pick on him with fouls, and other teams see that and are going to challenge him to take advantage of it. Yes, he's very lazy when defending jumpshots, but he plays good post defense and it's not always a bad thing if he steps back and allows an easy layup that would have earned him a sure foul if he'd challenged it. Today showed that it's a positive if he can stay in the game by avoiding foul trouble and we actually get him the ball on offense.

Sidney plays defense very far away from the basket. This means he's going to get backdoor'd a LOT, and beat by a quick spinmove, but also, if anyone tries to go over the top of him for a jump shot, it usually ends poorly for them, and Sid doesn't get nearly as many fouls as he would otherwise.

You call it smart, I call it ole'. He is lazy with his feet, which gets him out of position to where he either fouls or give up the easy basket.

Just because he doesn't foul doesn't mean he's playing "smart" defense.

/i do agree that we need him to stay in the game and actuAlly get him the ball in the post.

And I will give RSS a little credit in that he seemed to play a little more D in the last 10 minutes
