Sammis has a stellar track record as both OL and OC coaches (both major weaknesses) and he's the UConn recruiter for VA/MD, which is an area Beamer LOVES to recruit.
Thank you so much for this post. I'm 76 and have been a Gamecock fan for over sixty years even though I went to college at Erskine. I come on this site for information. I played high school football twenty miles from Columbia in the late 60s but I don't even pretend to know jack about college football today. Your post is valuable information for me. I know more about Jeff Beck than I do Jason Beck. When I log on here I have to wade through so much garbage to get info like this. I get that this is a free site and many on here ant to vent their frustration. I'm frustrated too. It just seems like no one wants to offer reasonable solutions to our problem.
Unfortunately, the Fleet is really struggling at football. I've lost touch but I think they only have a couple of wins in four seasons. Maybe they will get respectable before I'm on the other side of the grass.
Yep, they only had club football for decades. Decent baseball, men's BB and soccer teams (both men and women) when I was there. Had a few Trinidadian recruits on the soccer team. Basketball made it to the D-II tourney my senior year.
You guys are probably more into blues than I am but I loved those two albums in the '70's with Jan Hammer.
