How does Masoli affect the rest of the recruits out there?

I'm sure Houston and Chris Vaughn will tell all of these WRs out there that they need to come play with Masoli. They have a little 'news' right now and it's positive (in their mind) for them. I wouldn't think it would seal the deal for them to get the rest of the best, but you know how kids can be manipulated into thinking just about anything. He's only going to play one year, but i'm sure they will still use it to help reel them in. What do you think his affect will be?

I'm sure Nutt is going to bring out the old tapes of Matt Jones - i think they ran a lot of read option plays. They won't be able to change the offense entirely, but i'm sure they will do enough for Masoli to make him effective. I'm hoping they have a great year along with us and then we nail them on the road in the Egg Bowl.

The only positive affects on recruits would be if he is the difference between a mediocre or solid season. Another solid season could be the deciding factor for recruits that have yet to commit by Jan/Feb. Otherwise, they are never going to be playing with the guy, so why would it matter?

after Christmas he will disappear. It is all about winning and there never was a doubt that UM would take him. They just had to make it look good by waiting to reach a few days to decide.

1. This has put Ole Miss on the radar of a few kids that would not normally think about us. Say what you will about him being a thug or whatever, but we have just gotten 10 days of coverage that we would never have gotten otherwise. Our facilities has been talked about, our "back-to-back" 9 win seasons and Cotton Bowl wins, Houston Nutt as a coach who "does more with less", etc. Even if the athletes themselves are not reading it, their coaches and parents are.

2. If we win 9 games again and I am on record as saying he probably takes us from 6-6 to 7-5... not 9 or 10 wins, but if we do then any fence sitters will topple our way. Not directly because of Masoli, but because of the perception that the program can adjust to any sort of talent.
