How good can we be in football this year?

I'd put you guys as "favs" or "heavy favs" in 6: OOC (4), @MS, @UK<div>..."underdogs" or "heavy dogs" vs Arkie, and @Bama and LSU...</div><div>
</div><div>I think some people are sleeping a bit on UT, and Dooley is fighting for his life... if he can't beat MSU he won't likely have enough wins to survive.</div><div>Auburn should be much improved but that game should be a "pickem" to +-2.5 ....</div><div>I don't know **** about A&M....</div><div>
</div><div>I'd put the O/U at 7.5 at the moment....</div>

with 100% of this. My thoughts exactly...

Way too many people here are way too confident on Tennessee based on what they saw last year when UT was injury-plagued. They will have 3 of the best receivers and one of the best qb's in the country. Dooley may be an idiot, but I still think that's a really tough toss up game for us. I like our chances MUCH better against a rebuilding A&M with a new qb, deep into their first SEC schedule...

If we give them room to throw the ball and find open guys, they can/will find them. I'm with you... I'm worried about Tennessee.

Coach- You say a lot of questionable things on this board but to say Dak is better now than Relf was last year is completely absurd. Put Relf in place of Dak in the spring game and he does light years better. We all have hope for Dak but we have to be honest and say the kid is not ready yet.

Put Relf in the Spring Game where he cant run the ball or throw a dump off to Perkins and you think he just guides the offense down the field picking it apart? Remind me again of a game where Relf led the offense down the field for 7-8 plays just throwing the football? The Spring Game took away Dak's ability to run the ball and give the defense something else to think about

Prescott can make throws Relf cant- just as Russell can. The difference is defenses will have to play Prescott more like Relf because of his mobility. Defenses will play Russell diffferently because they know he isnt running anywhere.

we win 7 regular season games and with some luck, 8.

We are also a few injuries from a 6-6 season too. Our OL is better than last year but without some leadership too with Saulsbury gone

I'm not worried about skill positions. But depth at safety and OL scare me just a bit.

Imo Russell has not had the chance to succeed yet.The OL had problems in protection. He has a bunch of short shifty receivers but none can get separation.I think if Morrow and the two TE'S strectch the field and create mismatches and he gets decent protection. He will have a great yr.He is a winner but it's hard to lead a team when the offense is setup for read option and you're a pro-type QB.I think if they set this offense up to his strength's he will have a great yr,if the OL can be decent. Btw our pass defense played alot of zone last yr because our DL couldn't get pressure without 1 or 2 extra blitzers.IF we can get pressure with our front 4. I think you will see more man 2 man coverage.</p>

i saw early lines for all the SEC games earlier today, and we are favored against everyone except LSU (-20), bama (-18), and arkansas (-1). arkansas is essentially a toss up, and definitely could move in our favor depending on what goes down in fayetteville in the post-petrino world.

i'd say 10-2 is about our ceiling and hopefully against this scheudle 8-4 is our floor.

is extremely small for a run support guy which you would normally expect your SS to be. Most likely we will rotate the 3 through the 2 corner positions and play all 3 in some nickel packages.

Coach go back and watch last years spring game and compare Relf to what you saw from Dak this year. I will give you that Dak is better than Relf at this same point in his career but it is laughable to truly believe he is already a better QB. He was missing wide open receivers and skipping passes three yards in front of his targets. Dak couldn't do now what Relf did to Michigan in the Gator Bowl. What are you going by to form your opinion? High School? All we have to go by are practices and the Spring game and he hasn't been able to run in either of those settings.

what has been said by the staff. How many times in 2011 did Relf look like he did vs Michigan? Relf played hurt alot in 2011 and that caused some of the problems, but the fact remains he still couldnt lead us down the field by throwing the football his entire Sr season. He lost the starting QB job because he couldnt complete any passes to sustain drives. Did you forget all that?

Dak is a better runner than Relf- he is faster. Now durability is a question- that is one thing that made Relf so good. Dak can run the read option and throw the bubble screen just as well as Relf could- and by the Fall- he will be able to complete a few others as well

I know sportsbook always posts some games of the year in the preseason, but they haven't yet and they never list every single game even when they do.
