It was not the play calls it was the execution Notice mich were stuffed all game trying to run up the middle their yards came when they ran outside where corner are to come of on run support I hate to say it but Barnwell was one of the best at that. BUT our freshmen were no where to be found. Even announcer was praising Rossi on many of his Defensive calls. Execution was terrible. As seen by their passing game they just beat us with talent and execution. There were times of complete miscommunication at least 4 time receivers were totally alone. Rossi can not play the game, he can only tell them where and who they should be covering the fact that these freshmen blow assignment is youth and inexperience

By now we should have seen some progress by our young secondary. In the Michigan St. game I thought we were starting to see that progress. What we have seen since then is complete regression. We are now seeing wide open receiver's with no one within 15yds. This is coaching not putting them in position. When you see Cioffi 5yds in the endzone and then backup an additional 4yds that is coaching. This is what they are being taught the player's are not making this sh*t up as they go along.
Blitz packages are horrible and predictable. I payed close attention to this during the Wisconsin game as Arranda is a defensive innovator. What I saw was astounding. Wisconsin DL worked with the Blitzer's to take out the OL to give them a free shot at our RB protecting our QB. The RB had no shot as the Blitzer had a full head of steam and blew up the protector.. Blitzes were well disguised with many coming to the line and you never knew who was coming. They then took away any short passes by jamming receiver's and throwing timing off.
RU's Blitz packages are all telegraphed they walk a safety up or linebacker before the snap. Many times blitzing two through the same hole. Hole gets clogged up Blitzer's neutralized. DL do not work with the Blitzer's it's almost like they're two separate entities. DB's don't jam receiver's yet give 5 to 7yd cushion's leaving short passing game open. In conclusion this is all on poorly coached schematics. Sure there is going to be some execution problems with young players but this is more a problem with coaching over anything else.
