Had a job to to that absolutely required a grinder and a cutoff wheel. I went to Harbor Freight and bought the cheapest one. Now that I've used it for my need, I can think of DOZENS of times this thing would have made my life easier. I'm today years old.
Buy it, most of it will collect dust, but, you will know you have it, but can't find it when you need it.

The battery powered power tools were a game changer. A battery powered impact wrench with crazy torque makes working on something remotely so much easier than having to have an air compressor and air impact.
Still using air tools. The only battery powered tool I have is a DeWalt impact drill.

Spend the money on good cutting disc though. You don’t want one of those high speed sob’s to come apart on you. Wear a face shield too.

You think a grinder is useful... Get yourself an oscillating multi tool. There was a point in my life where I had a lathe but not oscillating multi tool. Never again....

My top 3 must haves:

Impact Drill
Sawzall
Oscillating Multi Tool
I was building some patio furniture for a friend out of pallets and needed a sawzall to take the pallets apart, never had bought one in all my years. Bought the $19.99 one at Harbor Freight and have used it for things I never dreamed of. Ive had it now for 11 years and it's still going strong. Have since inherited a new Milwaukee but still keep using the HF one till it dies. My lot is loaded with trees over turf. Best damn thing made to cut up limbs that fall in a storm, no chain to keep adjusting or keep oiled, and it won't chew your leg off if it gets away from you

Probably one of my least used but most valuable tools when needed is a 3/4 drive electric impact wrench. It’s saved many a busted knuckle, sore back , and use of the lords name in vain. 450 ft/ lbs of torque will do amazing things.

I have the 1/2 and a 3/8. Very handy.

i got a $99 compound sliding miter saw from HF 20 years ago with the hopes that it would live long enough for me to build a deck. It did, and then another 18 years. Technically when I replaced it, it still "worked", it just was challenging. The moment I opened the box and realized that they included replacement brushes with it, i did not have high hopes...but it more than pulled it's weight...

Two thumbs up on the OMT. Can't remember what I needed to do 10/15 years ago but along the lines of trimming the bottom of installed door trim/cut a bolt flush and a friend told me Harbor Freight had something called an "Oscillating Multi Tools" on sale. Never heard of it but that saw blade set up is amazing and the pointed sander handy too. Specialty tool for sure but when you need it, will do what no other can.
Had a chorded drill (with key) forever but springing for a battery pack around 05 was a hassle reducing game changer.
My number one "how did I live without this?!" was my first rechargeable B&D electric screwdriver. Moved into a new house around 92 and needed to do all of the shades/shelves, etc. stuff and finally bought one. Had done it the old fashion way in my previous 2 houses. Very high on my greatest inventions since sliced bread list.

I thought this thread would be about a bidet considering the size of SPS. No sarcasterisks
That's alright, im still not sure what the thread is about. I think a cutoff wheel is what is used on the left lane coasters

I did the same; bought a plug-in electric pole chain saw. It was about $60 and really works great for lower limbs, even though I won't use it every day. Sure beats using a handsaw. Battery would be more convenient I suppose, but I just roll out the 100-foot extension cord for a rarely performed chore.

That may be the one tool I might get "for fun". When hurricane helene did more damage here than expected, there was a huge need for people with gas powered chainsaws just to get us out of the neighborhood. It took far too long with the hand saws most of us had.

A sawzall can get you into all kinds of trouble.

I've got an actual SawzAll - a Milwaukee one. I'm not sure why I bought it.

THIS.....this deserves its own thread....Xmas last year at my sisters....all 5 bathrooms now installed with $35 bidets from Amazon....and of course, im running 7-8x for previous 24hrs hitting the slammer due to some Barnhills type food I ate....by the 3rd time, i tried the bidet bc it was becoming painful to sit bc my rear felt like it had razor blades attached to it....it was the gift that i needed at Xmas time....went home, bought the same one from amazon for $35.....paid for itself within 2 months and now I can't keep my 14yo out of my throne....wife hasn't warmed up to it yet, but I kinda already knew that would be a hard sell on her ;)

I've cut more limbs and shrubs , etc. that I care to count.
Just got over a case of poison ivy using mine (1of3).
I bought a DeWalt reciprocating saw years ago when remodeling my house. Since then, like you, it's all landscape maintenance I've cut down trees, removed limbs, cut roots, vines, removed crap from fences, you name it. Love that tool.

I've got the corded and battery Milwaukee Sawzall and they are worth their weight in gold. The wife called me one day at work and said she wanted to get rid of a sofa upstairs. I thought it was going to be a backbreaking evening. Turned out when I got home, she had taken the Sawzall and cut the dang thing into pieces and had it stacked on the curb.
