How long have VanVleet and Baker been playing for Wichita State?

I didn't even know they still played for Wichita State or else I would have picked them at least to make it to the Sweet Sixteen. Pretty solid guard duo.

Love them or hate them, the Shockers are some tough, resilient SOBs. Miami came out and made absolutely everything to start this game, and opened up a 27-6 lead. Now WSU is right back in it.

Damn. What a run for these two guys. Played in the final 4 as Freshmen. Undefeated as sophomores and earned a #1 seed in the tourney. Sweet sixteen last year with big wins over Indiana and Kansas. Played tough, grind it out ball the last two games but couldn't make the shots to keep up with Miami. Kudos to Miami for playing their tails off and hitting a lot of tough shots. Proud of the way the Shox played the last three games. Future is still bright in Wichita. Lots of young talent on that squad.

Yeah I'm not Wichita State fan but have followed them because I live in the area. Those 3 seniors: Baker, Van Vleet, and Wessel were fun to watch and seemed like great kids. I ran into Baker in Scott City last summer. He walked into the Casey's General Store and all the old men in there drinking coffee acted like he was just another kid coming off the farm. Pretty funny considering the way he is treated in Wichita. I coached Wessel's brother 2 years ago at Friends University. He was a great kid as well about a 8 inches shorter than Evan but extremely intelligent. Pretty clear they come from a good family.

That is pretty funny about Baker and Scott city. I was actually a WSU fan before I was a Nebraska fan. My grandmother worked in the administration there for over 35 years, and I went there for two years before transferring to Lincoln.

And very small world. One of my best friends works with Wessle's brother at a bank in Wichita. He said the same thing, he's a great kid and their family is top notch.

Yep, his brother, Trevor, was a good little linebacker. Kind of like Evan, not the most athletic, biggest or fastest but gritty and smart.

i'm not afraid to say it....although I LOVE the Huskers, I like the Shockers a lot...beings as they are from my adopted 'hometown'.

Actually spent several instances with all three at camps...better kids there are not....
