Which studio / production company do you fluff for, OP?
9 years in august. Started with this firm out of school. Interesting to see what compensation increase I get when I get my license this spring.
2.5 years, job and profession (5.5 if you count school, which you shouldn't). Switched careers in my early 30s.
About 33 years total in software development and database work. Only 3.5 years with my current employer. Was with my last employer for 17 years.

8 with the initial company I started out in the profession with.
Thought I was taking a pay cut for about 20 hours per week less hours worked and every other Saturday off. Was willing to do that for my sanity (average week at previous job was 60-65 hours), and to see my wife and kids some, they where growing up so quick and I was at work way too much. I was wrong, I have actually made more at the new job other than the 1st year, then my best year at the other job.
Was the best decision I ever made, lot less stress, less hours, every other weekend off, more money. Actually only work about roughly 45 hours a week, no Sundays or holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th, New years). Have 14 vacation days and 7 sick days.

Currently on my second go-round at the company I work for. Did 6 years (87 thru 92) first time. Just passed 14 years (01 thru today) this stretch. So 20, combined.
Came in at 7am today....so, bout 9.5 hours so far. Wrapping up now tho.
