at the end of the season. Obviously no way to know who we will lose but there is definitely going to be some voluntary and some given the nudge to look elsewhere. Any speculation on numbers?

Hopefully enough to clear out the lack of passion, for whatever reason the passion isn't in them.

My guess in numbers is between 5-7.

Talking scholarships...

We lose, by their choice? I say 3, maybe 4.

We lose, coaches choice? I say 5, maybe 6.

Total number between 8 and 10.

One that i hate to even think of maybe Wilborn and that sucks, he runs like Abdullah as a freshmen. I do not get why, in this case, we can't be more like the NFL, and have him play certain downs or what ever.

My understanding is that it's not simply pass blocking. He has some off the field issues. Until he changes some things nothing is going to change.

I think this is a good guess. Some will willingly walk out the door, some will need to be shown the door.

Can we pull current player scholarships? If so who are some names you think may get pulled.
On the opposite end what players do you think may leave?

I don't think it's productive to talk about this kind of thing. It's going to happen so we can talk about it then. Guessing who needs their scholly pulled doesn't do any good. Not trying to be rude to you personally or anything. Just adding my thought on this.

I believe that I've read on here that scholarships are year to year, for four years at a time.

No problem, just curious if anyone had some information that was already out there about it. Odds are if certain players are leaving at end of year they already have it in the works and if a scholarship gets pulled odds are they are part of the problem and it being mentioned on here doesn't matter anyways.lol But I understand your point.

I will go on record as saying it will be the right amount no matter what the number is. We needed bodies this year if they don't want to play for Nebraska let them go to Youngstown and rejoin the cult.

If we are lucky, the number will be closer to 15-18. This would free us room for a monster class.

That doesn't do you that much good. You can only sign 25 per class plus you can count back a few to last year if you had early enrollee's. Losing that many would be like self imposed probation if you couldn't fill all the positions. At the same time, if there are that many bad apples, better to get them out of the locker room.

I believe NU can count 5 back to last year. So, I believe they can sign up to 30 if they had the room.

So let's say we lose 15. Would we be able to take 58 in 2 classes? Not sure what the numbers look like

Assuming you have room with the 85 scholarships and Nebraska signed 30 this year, then Nebraska would just need 3 EE's this year and they could then sign 58 over two years. I know POB is an EE, not sure who else is.

HuskerTim, I assume of the 8-10 players who might transfer you know the names of such players. In your mind, which players(number) you think is no big loss to the program? And which players(number) you hope the players stay because of potential or actual ability? Thanks

Do we have enough interest from high quality recruits to fill a class of 30 on signing day if it comes to that? I know the thoughts at first was a class in the low to mid 20s prior to season. Roughly 3 months and a week until signing day. Need to average about 5 commits a month. Gonna be a wild ride.

I think 10 is way too much. It's going to be a few. People assumed that many were going to transfer last year, and not many did. I don't think Riley would force 5 out, let alone a single one.

Think what you want. Last year, the blotards said all kinds of players were transferring because blo was **** canned, we all know how that worked out. Regardless, let's not act like a few people were asked to leave....

Gregory (expected due to draft), Santos, Bondi, Alexander, Stanton, Love (gone before blo fired), Hart (gone before blo fired), Walton, Tolbert, Irons and Gladney.

8 of the 11 were processed by coach Riley.

I've always thought the roster in 2016 will look much different than this year. The RB position in particular will look different in my opinion, but this could be the case at many positions.

The offensive & defensive lines really need more difference makers as well as the secondary and more quality depth at WR & TE.

3 linebackers and a starting safety gone with that group....add to it Moss at DE.

I could believe it would be 10 or more. On another board, another pretty "on the spot" poster had said there were quite a few grumblings about "this isn't what I signed up for" and the change in atmosphere from a more lax Pelini to a more "NFL style" program that is trying to be run under Riley when it comes to film, workouts, etc.

Wish them all luck either way. I'm ready for a complete culture change at Nebraska and think Riley is the kind of guy who can bring the proper mentality back.

I do not wish any luck to the malcontents who don't have either the self respect or the respect for their teammates to give 100%. Don't let the door hit ya!

Even if we can't completely fill the class, we will be much better off without the Pelini malcontents.

Addition by subtraction. Would be fine with all the Botards being shown the door to YSU.
