Remind me... was that the newsletter that they used to mail out about every 4-6 weeks? If so, I was never a subscriber, but I have fond memories of reading it back in the day at my granddad's house. It was my introduction to recruiting buzz, so it has a special place in my heart. It's amazing what the recruiting game has turned into since that time. That little newsletter used to be the only place to find any info about it at all for MSU.

I did back in the pre-Internet days. It was really the only way to get any in-depth coverage of MSU sports at the time. But damn, some of those articles just went on and on forever.

I subscribed to it or picked it up at B-Quick when I was a student. The original tabloid with sandpaper quality paper was actually very good. I always looked forward to reading it. It was the only place to get info on recruiting and baseball. Had all the msu baseball boxscores every week.

It went to pot in the late eighties when the university bought it and turned it into a propaganda rag for the school. Could no longer cover recruiting and it became a tool for Larry Templeton. Horrible idea.

The long articles were written by David Murray who still does the same thing today. The guy doesn't know how to stop.

Yea ...

I just read on genespage it's going away.

Been a suscriber since about the beginning, back in the 'ole days' before the internets. Paid extra for first class delivery so that they would get to me in Michigan, Nebraska, California ... or whereever I was living at the time ... with a recap of last weeks game and a preview of upcoming game.

It was a 'lifeline' to MSU sports for someone outside the SEC area of coverage.

I don't remember much of Genespage anymore other than the attitudes in the forum being a huge turnoff for me-- nothing at all like classic Dawgnews.

Pre-internet, it was the only way to keep up with MSU athletics. I looked forward to receiving it each week. It served a great purpose then but, like newspapers, the internet has made it obsolete.

I did. That paper version was awesome back in the day.

Though I understand it was quite a pain for David Murray to be writer, editor, photographer, and graphic artist all at once.

Showing my age now, I subscribed when Joe Dier was the editor publisher photographer everything back in the late '70s early '80's. Most of you pups probably didn't even know it has existed for that long..........

I remember listening to Bill Walberg's talk show on what became SuperTalk and David Murray of Dawgsbite Magazine was a frequent guest. Back in mid-90s.

Remember when Glen Waddle did a sports show on wjdx 62am in Jackson in the late eighties. That was painful. Only talked about ole miss and blues hockey. I called in and dogged that damn rebel.

From the git-go--back when Joe Dier was the Main Man. I think it started back in the time of Emory.
