A few of my in laws don’t “do Santa” and their cringy reason is “i don’t feel right lying to me kids”
Really??? It’s not that serious lol
I'd want to slap them but I'm sure they're lovely people.

I believed until about age 8. Then I found out where mom and dad hid the presents before Christmas.
I was devastated and angry at my parents (and older brother) for a while when I found out Santa wasn't real, so I don't really want to do Santa with kids if I am lucky enough to be married and have kids.
If I marry the woman I'm currently dating, she wouldn't let that fly, so if we have kids, we would most likely do Santa. She's most definitely the boss, haha.
Living under a rock and they had a chance if believing it..What circumstances would allow it?
Problem is Santa has become the reason for the season...I can’t imagine a childhood without the magic of Santa. As long as kids understand the real reason for the season, and wish a happy birthday to baby Jesus!
When I was little I was taught to believe in Santa Claus, The Tooth Fairy, The Easter Bunny, and a holy trinity. I stopped believing in all those imaginary beings at about 9 years old.
Let the kids be kids. Doesn't hurt 'em any to believe in myths. If they still believe in those myths by the time they get to HS, you might wanna have them tested.
That is a sad truthProblem is Santa has become the reason for the season...
You have got to be parent of the year ! Can’t imagine how much fun you are to be around, probably should go ahead and vote for you as the $hittiest parent EVER ! :chairshot:I told my kids there is no Santa at 2 yrs old. Been re-enforcing it every year since then. They are 7 now. They get nothing.

MarmotWhen my kid was in daycare around age 2-3, one of the teachers would go outside and hide under the windows and put a Santa hat on a stick so that the top of the hat could be seen by the kids inside.
The teachers inside would remind the kids that Santa is watching to see who’s naughty and nice. Then Santa would disappear (back to the North Pole).
My daughter didn’t quite understand about the North Pole and thought they said that Santa went back in his hole. Apparently Santa was a gopher or prairie dog.
I'm beginning to think some of you don't believe in Santa. Your probably the same people that don't believe in ALIENS!
The Greys can be a nasty little bunch...I know one christmas 18 years ago i had a santa visitor..... except he wore a silver suit with big black eyes. didnt bring me any gifts though the little jerk![]()
I laid on my bunk at Ft. Knox and wondered how Santa was going to get past the Sgt.........he didn't.......![]()
There was a Saint Nicholas back in early Europe where the legend began. When my daughter got old enough I explained that he did exist just not in the form known today but, the spirit of old Saint Nick still lives on.My kids believed in Santa...the youngest until he was almost 11 (mostly because his brother and sister had him convinced...)
But they were taught that Santa only brings three small gifts to represent the gifts brought by the three Wise Men. Those gifts were things like books, puzzles, board games, etc. Anything more expensive came from Mom and Dad.
They learned as they grew up about the real Saint Nicholas, and also learned that Santa is about the magic of giving. He doesn’t have to be a real person, he’s a concept that most people would do well to remember all year

Well said. Kudos. Being a grown up sucks sometimes. But watching a child light up as they talk about Santa brings back better times and loved ones who indulged you when YOU talked about Santa!Yes, Santa Claus is one of the best things humanity has ever invented. We are great at coming with stuff that sucks, the few things that are good about us we should celebrate. Of course you should not lie to your kids once they dont believe and make them think your a liar, but there is an art to the wink, wink and nod of the magic of Christmas. Dont be douche and make Christmas sterile for your children by not doing Santa Claus.
