...age 40 and older, actually sleep through the night without waking up or having to get up to use the restroom?

Just curious, because when I was younger, up until 35-36, I could fall asleep and not wake up until 8 hours later. Now, I can't sleep more than 2-3 hours at a time.

I tried Ambien a couple of years ago and slept great, but I would be so tired the rest of the day I could barely function.

I'm 62 and don't have to get up during the night to go to the bathroom, but I usually sleep for about 5 hours straight then toss and turn for the next 3. It's a *****.

My problem also.

I fall asleep right after I turn the tv off, and then 3 hours later I wake up. Then it takes about an hour or two to go back to sleep.

It makes me angry, makes me blood boil, makes me want to set fire to my public hairs.

What do you do when you get up at two? Just curious.

Watch TV. Log on here.

I tried running.

That really wakes you up.

Meteor showers are great.

Bathing sometimes helps.

Reading might work.

I cut out all caffeine

You aren't diabetic are you?

60 and toss and turn all through the night but, don't have to go to the bathroom until morning. Wear a regular mouth piece to keep from grinding teeth all night. Had a lot of pain from a couple of teeth until using it.

Bruxing. The curse of the worrier. Was always afraid of the mouth guards.

The only way I can sleep through the night is to have no liquids for in the hours leading up to bed. I drink any caffine soda after supper and It's guaranteed I'll have to get up 2-3am to go.

I'm 50 and it's been this way about 10 years

57 and sleep 7-8 hours most nights with very little interruption of my own doing. I consider myself fortunate, as I have a friend who gets only about 5 hours of interrupted sleep every night.

I hate when I gotta wake up and take a piss and then feel like I'm about to **** my pants as I'm pissing so it takes me out of sleep mode. I like to take a piss when I get up for the day then take a dump

I'm 51. Pee before I go to bed (anywhere from 9-10). Wake up around 3:30 (+/- 1/2 hr), let the dog out & pee again. Try to go back to sleep, usually toss & turn until alarm goes off around 5:30 am. Get up...pee again. It's routine, it's just what I do.

"Let the dog out" is not a euphemism for spankin' the monkey.

I can hold my pee all night, but falling asleep is a *****. I suffer from irritable leg syndrome and can't lay them still, sometimes most of the night. It's apparantly becoming more and more common.

I usually do pretty good until around 3:00 AM and from then until I get up at 7:00 I am awake and asleep several times. Melatonin does seem to help some.
