How many other SEC coaches would you want over Stans?

With the annual bashing of Stansbury, I was wondering how many coaches in the SEC you would rather have coaching MSU other than Stans?

I came up with two, Billy the Kid, and Bruce Pearl. Im not sold on Gillispie as of yet. I like AK, but until he decides to impose a curfew on himself, he is out as well.

So with all the talk, is Stans the 3rd best coach in the SEC?

If you are an AD and every coach in the SEC is available, and you are picking third and Billy the Kid, and Pearl went 1,2, who do you pick third?

Stans may not give you the highest ceiling, but you know what you are getting with him, so who do you take? Gillispie? Stans? Pelphrey?

that guy can coach. He may not last in Lexington b/c they are so impatient, but what he did at A&M is really impressive. Also, watching them, they look very well coached. I really like some of the simple stuff they do on offense.

If you decide to get rid of stans, I think the SEC is the last place you go looking for a coach. For the last decade, it hasn't exactly been a braintrust of x's and o's.

the SEC not being all that great of a basketball conference. While we have had a decent rpi the last few years, the SEC is top-heavy due to Kentucky, Fla, and Tenn...We are the best of the rest...only 5 conference teams have winning records in conferece as opposed to 7 with losing records. the last 10 years.

Thats why you see Stansbury winning in the SEC, yet having a losing record against notable teams outside the conference.

I'd probably take Pelphrey over him, but not enough info is in on Pelphrey yet to say thats right or wrong. He looks damn good right now in his 2nd season.
I'd take Stallings too. He is starting to really get it going in Nashville the last few years. And he wins big games.
I like Gillespie, and think he will keep Kentucky in the top 3 of the SEC without a doubt, so i'd take him too
Hiring Gottfried would be getting the same thing- Gottfried wins a few less in conference, but has more success in March. So no upgrade there
Kennedy is a drunk, and while I'd like to party with him, I dont want him as our coach
LSU's coach has been successful, but no way to judge him yet. Same with SC's coach.
No on Georgia and Auburn

But Im not sold on him yet.

He loses some games he shouldn't and there are times when Im just not impressed with him.

Personally, and I have been saying this for years, I hope MSU gets tired of Stans, and fires him.

...and would probably add Vandy's coach. I would put holds on Pelphrey, Gillespie, and the new SC and LSU coaches. Just haven't seen enough from them. I definitely would want Stans over Kennedy, Gottfried, Lebo, Felton. It's fair to say he's middle of the pack.

Gillespie and Pelphrey have every advantage in the world over MSU at their respective schools yet somehow both way underachieved last year. Stallings and Kennedy are solid but I don't know about better. The rest.....hell no. Until Gillespie stops losing games at Rupp to teams like VMI he is not even in the equation.
