How many SR's do we start?

Is this a concern that we start a roster of about 2/3 seniors? I don't know the exact numbers, so correct me if I'm off. But do we have some studs waiting in the wings to swing the bat and make the plays?<div>

We have just won 6 SEC games in a row with the last 5 on the road AND secured the series victory against our archrival and this is your response? Just enjoy it man and we'll worry about that 9 months from now.

And I'm enjoying the wins. Hoping for MSU to make history tomorrow. But it's just something that came to mind after seeing SR after SR come to the plate. I'm proud for these guys. They are seeing the fruits of their efforts. Some of them have been around since the Polk days. I hope they win the next five games to close out the season.<div>

Just think about what everyone (including myself) last year was worried about. How could we possibly replace powers, sneed, Adkins, etc... No one had a clue parks would be leading the SEC in hitting this year.

but at the same time, I think we have some young players that are overall more talented than the seniors that we have now. What they need is experience- that is where the concern comes in.

I think the good news is we're probably not going to have to start a whole lot of true freshmen either, though. We have a lot of guys that will be taking over that have at least gotten some at bats this year and will go off to a summer league and get some more experience and then will come back in the fall. Norris, Frazier, Bradford, Stark, and Renfroe have all gotten some SEC starts. We return Brownlee. We'll see what the two JUCO catchers bring to the table next year- one was drafted by the Marlins out of high school. I think Demarcus Henderson and Wes Rea have a lot of promise as well.

The other good news is I expect our pitching to be very strong next year. We likely return our entire rotation next year- two of which will be going to the Cape Cod League next year in Stratton and Routt. And we return Caleb Reed as well, our current pitchers will be that much better next year, and we will also be adding some more good arms to our staff as well.

in the pitching department and with the new bats this will bode well for us. We will have our work cut out for us in replacing these seniors but we have more young talent than we have had in a long time and another great class coming in so I am not too worried.

....Only 2 were there with Polk, Freeman and Collins I think. You have to remember, that when Cohen and staff came in we were so bad talent wise that we needed a quick fix in alot of areas and they had to go the JUCO route. Ogden, Johnson, Vickerson, Parks, Shepard, are all JUCO guys. <div>

I would almost rather the guys that played regularly this spring to stay and lift weights this summer to get stronger and let the others with less experience go off and play....bradford/frazier need to put on a few lbs...

Not a lot of people have given Butch the credit he deserves for the pitching staff improvement.
