</div><div>The Ole Miss fans are pissed. Former Ole Miss player, Bert Carruth was on Out of Bounds this morning and has seen the billboard - told Bo to move on to another subject.</div><div>

The last time I drove by, They had the string of Balls (Tennis, Soccer, BB, FB, Baseball) sign close to the airport and maybe another Baseball sign on 20/59. Have not driven the stretch looking for Welcome to Dan's STATE yet. would love to see it soon. There are OM folks in town who would love it perhaps more than me (maybe not).

edited to correct stupid finger mistakes

I-59 north entering Mississippi from Slidell/Pearl River and at Vicksburg, I-55 south out of Mempho, I-20 at Vicksburg and Meridian, and even Natchez, and I-10 at Waveland and Mobile...that oughta' be enough.

Already received one email with a picture of the sign at the MS/LA border. The email read "Look at this sign on HWY 6 near Oxford!!!" It had been forwarded at least a dozen times by the time it hit my inbox.

I know existing, functioning billboards on I-10 East don't exist for several miles into Mississippi but...pretty please? Building one at the Stennis Space Center exit would kick *** and piss off 50% of my coworkers daily (thereby kicking more ***).

In that area therehas to bea"Welcome to our State" billboardon 78. That is the route the Memphis Bulldogs and Rebears take to their respective campus. Preferably in Marshal county at 78 and 7 but just south of Olive Branch would do.

wife drives clinton > vburg and back every day. she said she hasn't seen one yet, but she gets on/off at Halls Ferry. so they may have put one up before that exit...i'll go hit the chevron in delta some times and check it out too.

My brother called to tell me he saw it after we haddiscussedwhether it was up yet or not. He said it is covered up a bit by some trees, so you can't see it until you get right up on it

New car game for me and my 9 year old. We are leaving Oklahoma, heading to MS on the 29th. I'll be entering the State thru Memphrica, then down I-55 to New Orleans, then back to Biloxi, and then off to Florida. Then from Florida, up to West Point. I hope I see a few.

Btw I realize that route makes no sense, but we are catching family all around the South as we head to the Gator Bowl.

Didn't catch it--is it near Slidell or is it in the buffer zone? Or on I-12? Either way, woot!

But being in the business, I would be upset if OM did this. These boards probably average $1,000 - $3,000/month rent + production of the vinyl & install (About $1,250 each.) So the total cost of these would be approximately $202,000/yr. Even if Alums are paying, I would prefer that money go to the school or athletic dept. Maybe it's just me...

it might cost that. Lotta loose inventory out there now. In all media.

I would expect that the tab came in less than that amount.

And if you think that that is he best use of $202,000 in ad dollars, that's fine. Just stating my opinion - not trying to cut you down.

Unless they put one in the middle of slidell (which wouldn't make sense) there just isn't anywhere to place one on I-10E entering Mississippi. It doesn't appear that billboards are allowed in the buffer zone. There isn't a single board whatsoever until mile #24, and those are spoken for by casinos. The only possible spot is just before Gulfport, 31 miles past the state line.

It was on I-10 westbound though. Katrina thrashed it pretty good and it has since rotted away, and that was likely a NASA-owned one anyway. Ah well. My people for an Exit 2 billboard!
