for WVU to regain credibility...earn respect...be relevant...and achieve beyond mediocrity? Or is the program destined to be every other team's annual homecoming punching bag?

I think we’ve seen the best days at WVU. Sure we will see some excitement once in a while, but by large, I think with the way the NIL is and will become, we will be less competitive.

I’d take the old Nehlen era. Ever 4-5 years we had a great year, but I don’t think that’s ever gonna happen again either. Not trying to be Debbie downer just my opinion.

I feel like that should be expectation for the program. At least be ranked and competitive every 4-5 years. We are having short term NIL success in basketball, but I just don’t see it translating to football. Not with the money other programs have and lack of oversight by the ncaa.

NIL or not we were never competing in football again. Atleast in terms of national relevance, sure we might squeak into the top 25 again at some point in the future, but should we ever earn a playoff berth you can look to how it went for TCU should we have to lineup against an SEC champ again in a high stakes game.

Not as long as getting rid of my headache reading your bs.
So you think that a football team picked dead last in the 14 team Big 12...a basketball team reeling from mass defections after the drunken head coach resigns...an interim head basketball coach with a makeshift staff and a drunk suing to take his job...is a sign of a healthy program?

Mass defections?

1. Touissant
2. Mitchell
3. Okonkwo
4. Wague

Other than Mitchell and Touissant, the other two were role players easily replaced. And I will argue that Bembry and Edwards easily replace the minutes lost. Add to that Perez, Battle, Silverio, Slazinski, and Kriisa.........but please, continue to talk about the woes of the basketball team.

Hey Pollyanna...how many minutes of WVU basketball have your new collection of gypsies played together? When did Battle get cleared? How many games has this group won together? How many games has the coaching staff been together? What system does the HC with no experience run? You're so cute when you're cornered in your basement.

Probably never. WVU is running the winners out and keeping the losers and seem very content in doing so. Cant go anywhere but down that way. I predict we learn a few things over the next few years. 1. It would've been worth it to pay Neal's buyout already to avoid him further sinking the program to the point where no one cares anymore except a handful of die hards. Massive losses in ticket and food/beer sales headed WVU's way imo. 2. There is a reason Huggins is a HOF coach. 3. Gordon Gee is killing WVU and this is just the beginning.

I dont let games that 18-22 years-old play define my happiness.
