And who will be our third running back?

We can't go in to 2012 with only one player having game experience at these two positions, right?

I see Favre getting more playing time as the season goes on as long as the games are clear victories or losses. He very well might not see any time till midway through the season. The playing time won't be much even at that point, mostly just a couple of possessions to see what he can handle in a real game. As far as the running back position, your have me lost. We have two players with experience, Ballard and Perkins. The third running back would probably be previous walk-on Adrian Marcus. He's good, especially for a walk-on. I wouldn't consider Elliot a contributor.

He said 2012. Both Ballard & Elliot will be gone. That will only leave Perkins with experience at TB. Marcus is a FB. That's why Griffin's injury sucks so bad. He will be Ballard's replacement in 2012.

Your guess is as good as anybodys on the third QB. It depends on who wins out the back-up spot. As for our third RB this year, it would be Elliot. For 2012, Perkins, Griffin, Milton, and Josh Robinson if he qualifies should all be ready to play RB. Hopefully we can get Grindle in this recruiting class.

I'm more worried about the 2012 o-line - possibly losing 3 starters if Carmon wins the battle at LT. We could lose both starting tackles & the starting center. But the bright side is that we should have an excellent defense.Should be tons of experience all around on def as long as we keep the current group together for 2 more years.</p>

I imagine our 3rd qb will get as much playing time as any other 3rd string qb does. First priority is to take care of business and run the offense with a steady quarterback (Relf), then we might see a mix of Russell and Favre. Hopefully we will see some big enough leads to get those guys some experience, but our first priority is taking care of business against whoever it is we are playing

This is definitely the year for us to make a splash. I dont' care how good we recruit or how good Mullen coaches. We are going to lose 3/5 O-line, top TE in green, starting QB, starting TB. You don't just reload when you lose that much. On the bright side our D will be stacked. That is why I expect us to take it to Auburn this year. I think they lost 4/5 or maybe 5/5 OL plus the heisman winner at QB. They aren't going to just reload from that.

and I am concerned even this year with our depth at O-Line. I think our D-Line is ok, but we lost two very strong leaders in the trenches this past year in Sherrod and Brignone. I hope to see some younger guys step up early in those positions.

That's assuming they're even playing football this fall. A 3-year death penalty would be appropriate but not likely.
