DvlDog4WVU I'm not suggesting they'd easily go down without a fight, but they cannot sustain a protracted battle against our overwhelming force primarily because they are ill equipped, weak and underfed as a fighting force.
Remember all the fears and worries over Iraq's "vaunted" Republican Guard? Said by the media to be the "fiercest, best equipped fighting force in the Middle east"?
What happened when they met overwhelming force? The North Koreans aren't nearly as well fed or equipped as Saddam Hussein's army was, and we made mince meat out of them inside of two weeks in Operation Desert Storm.
The Fighting Kim Jong Uns will meet a similar fate if they try to go mano-o-mano v the US Armed forces and all the assets we can deploy against their rag tag army.

They are mean and tough, atlkvb. They will do whatever their leader says, whoever that might be. The *** Graham is about the only American left with an appetite for war. We may have no choice but to declare war, but I think we will begin with intermediate range missiles to damage their air defenses enough to bring in MOABs. Intelligence is lacking as to how long they can eat, but much of our intel indicates that they have sufficient underground infrastructure to survive a nuclear attack. IMO, they might survive, but it would be one hell of a setback. The world needs to have an open discussion about hitting them hard. Congress needs to debate a Declaration of War if only for show. During which time, tighten sanctions and use diplomacy.
I agree Trump needs to go to both Congress and the American people and explain his rationale for attacking them preemptively.
He has said we need to solve the problem and I agree with him, but he has not sufficiently explained why in my opinion. Still I just do not see them being able to put up a sustained fight against our fighter jets, cruise missiles, battle ships, and ground forces that we can drop behind their forward lines to disrupt their supply routes.
They have a poor logistically weak infrastructure that can easily be divided and cut off. They rely on China for supplies, and if we convince China to stay out, they can be bled dry within a few weeks. They have poor air defenses, and would be very vulnerable to strategic bombing, disruptions to their lines of communications, and interruption of their supply lines.
It would be a slaughter of mass proportions, especially once we cut their troops off from what little food they have access to. As I said, they're not going to fight if they're hungry & weak (they can't) I don't care how loyal they are to "Dear Leader"
Our first order of business will be to decapitate their supply lines and weaken their ability to sustain battle. Then we'd move in and finish them off, or force their surrender before annihilating their skinny little emaciated bodies.
The only thing I posted about nukes was our intel saying they could survive it. Is that what you disagree with? Do you think they could not survive it?
Way too many variables to comoare the two. I'd anticipate losing a lot more than we've lost in the desert.
I think the King of Battle would slow them and keep them at bay. We’re loaded there with 155’s and 105’s not to mention the Navy.
Currently, the Seventh Air Force provides command and control to two Wings based permanently in South Korea:
- 8th Fighter Wing, stationed at Kunsan Air Base.
- 51st Fighter Wing, stationed at Osan Air Base.
I'm not confident in that, though it's highly probable. Air superiority is a must.
No doubt. But I think they wouldn’t have long to fire. US Copperhead rounds, not to mention air power, would make short work of NK artillery and armory.
