Easy, if you're not in your seat after the 1st 5 minutes of the game allow students to move and open the doors for $5 a head to fill all empty seats. If you aren't attending you shouldn't get to keep an empty seat!

So not only would you be letting people go to the game for cheaper than what season ticket holders have paid, but you'd actually be giving away their seats as well. That'll go over nicely

So you're scenario is this: I walk up to the Hump at say 5 till tip off. I go take a leak, go to the concession and get a hot dog and drink. I then stop and speak to a friend or shake a few hands on the way to my season ticket seat and lo and behold every game I'm going to have to move people out of my seat that paid $5 to get in and then be surrounded by others that did the same? Sorry sir, your idea sucks like my Carolina Pride Hot Dog and Coke in a stinky cup did.

If all the people sitting in a chair and posting on message boards during the game about the low attendance would take your *** to the Hump, there would not be many empty seats. You bitches are unreal. Your boycott of Ray is so low class, especially all you old ******* who can't stand the hire.

Why would you assume it is about the hire? How about having a product on the court (few elite players) that would make you want to go? So you want people to spend their hard-earning money on tickets plus the Bulldog Club, gas, food, etc to watch a bad product? That doesn't count the 6 hours of your day that you could have been watching your kid play or taking him/her hunting, etc. Good luck with your argument.

why would an elite recruit.... or even a halfway decent recruit want to come play at a school that's basically in the boonies in front of 10s of 20s of fans who will sit on their hands the entire game, then run online and post trash about how horrible they are and how much they'd like (and deserve) something better than they currently have?

at least at OM they can have all the bourbon (and coke) and hookers they want.

Nah, that would require recruiting with tactics to actually sign highly rated players. We are now all about doing things the "right way". So we need a different strategy to get people to the Hump.

Its all in Rick Rays court. He has shown he can coach now just recruit. If they

This is what happens when you take good seats from faithful fans and give them to the highest bidder. Now that faithful fan sits in the upper deck and that pricy seat goes empty on TV cause that rich dude doesn't have time to dive to Starkville to use his seat.

Unfortunately I think you're

right. I like Ray and wish he'd succeed, but I think he has to take chances on superior talent with questionable character/backgrounds in order to do this. However, this seems to go against what he stands for.

Look at OM. Granted the SEC blows now, but they're experiencing their greatest success in 10+ years on the backs of a crackhead that's been kicked out everywhere he's been. Hell our Final Four squad relied heavily on a thug who's in prison still. 2003/2004? A guy that was in a team so full of problems that a teammate murdered another teammate.

I'm afraid that the somewhat level-headed, highly talented kids are not going to be at State. We managed to get one, and he transferred out after a year.

1) Lots of "rich dudes" have seats for a long time and use to attend a lot of games when basketball was relevant.
2) "Rich dudes" usually are that way due to the job they have, so their time is valuable - give them a good product and they will prioritize.
3) Be thankful for "rich dudes" or you wouldn't have the new basketball practice facility, new football facility, skyboxes, etc. Go buy new club level seats and see how much the Bulldog Club fees are ($1750 - $2500 per ticket to have the privilege to buy the tickets).
