Won the east in 2007. Try again

But that doesn't make you relevant. Heck, I just now had to think about who won the East last year. It's not taking anything away from the SEC East because it's a great part of the conference, however winning the conference is the only thing that most people think about.

I would think most people don't think of South Carolina as a relevant program, but they also won the East. I also have no clue when, but maybe 2010?!?

1) I think Butch Jones is a really good coach. 2) I think UT is getting better every year and lost a few games last year they should have won. 3) I think we've only beat you twice in my lifetime and I'm not a young man so you won't see me giving UT fans hell unless the day ever comes where you don't curb stomp us. I could go on and on because we need to be competitive before we give UT fans much hell. But here is the point of my post: YOU (Orange_N_White) were a total *** hat runnin' your mouth when we played last year (yep- UT won again) and here you come again to our board being a total *** again. You must live a sad petty little life or you wouldn't have to come over here knowing you're just going to be a human *** hole with no IQ or measureable intelligence. Your team is really good and personally I think your coach is really good as well. You, on the other hand, are a childish scum bag. Grow up.

TnCatForever, again you need to check facts. If you will look closer, General Neyland won several National Championships before and after WWII so once more you didn't check all your facts but I can understand the dislike for a team that has beat you 29 out of the last 30 years and the coach you continue to say will get replaced has hung 50 or better on you every year with some teams that just weren't very talented. I feel the same way about KY basketball as I grew up on the TN/KY line and had to hear about UK basketball all the time and took the ribbing every year good naturedly as I knew I could return the favor in the fall. Surprised after Tuesday's BB game there wasn't at least a couple of KY BB fans jumping off bridges, as that's how I felt when Dooley lost to UK. But whether you believe it or not, Butch Jones is the real deal as he is a great recruiter and closer and has surrounded himself with great coaches who have all either been with Butch for a while or have coached at Power 5 schools with great success. And yes, it's been a while since we beat FL but after a couple of close losses we finally beat GA this year and finally on even terms with them and Fl in talent. Until Mizzu came into the league, only FL, GA or UT had been to the SEC championship game with the exception of the one year USC went and looks like that will be the norm again with the way those 3 are recruiting compared to the other 4.
'
There is no question General Neyland's years at UT defined the greatness and tradition of the program. This continues today and we have no one except ourselves to blame for the decline of our football program over the decades. I'm still surprised and disappointed over the knee jerk decision to end the beer barrel tradition. Our decades old rivalry is now but a footnote in SEC history.

We are going all in with football today in terms of financial and facilities support. The coaching staff and recruiting are the best since anyone can remember. And, we are closer to competing in the SEC in a very long time. More important, let's hope the UT-UK rivalry will become meaningful once again. The SEC needs this great old rivalry to be relevant and clearly the fans would love those golden fall Saturdays in Knoxville and Lexington to fun for the fans and competitive for the teams.

I have to ask the UT fans on here. There is no doubt you guys own us in football. Congrats.

So why are you coming over here and running your mouth?

What about going over to your real football rivals' boards and talk trash? You know, Alabama, Florida, and Georgia?

Is it because you're a collective 1-25 in your last 26 games against those rivals of yours?

UT fans can only talk down to UK and Vandy fans. That is what their proud program has become.

Your 1 title comment shows you know very little about college football. Stick to BB.

Yeah...he forgot to count championships around WWII. How ridiculous when measuring the success of a program in the last 50 years

This is a fair point, but if you are gonna use it against UT in football you have to use it against us in b-ball. That cuts our titles in half if you just go past 50 years.

A title is a title if it is legit...of course in b-ball you have a real tournament to base results off of while in football selecting the champ was a joke for decades and decades.

Because, as I've said all along, UK is and will always be UT's real rival. We are border states and very much have a lot in common other than sports and universities. Unfortunately for Kentucky, Tennessee has dominated this rivalry. If and when Kentucky can win enough games to make it competitive again, they will get SOOOO much worse.

Trust that to be true, as you're already seeing.

Dead on here....why don't they go to Bamas board and see how they did in football recruiting.....and once again. Remember they finished 7th in the SEC in recruiting.....they have all all their eggs on next year. If they don't win the east and finish Top 5 they will be all over Jones...they lose nearly the entire core of that team. They are not one of the Big 15 I. Football.....but they like to pretend they are..

Sorry...did you let me know if the other programs were irrelevant?

Haters gonna hate
Those other teams have at least been in the discussion for the title game in the last 20 years...in fact I think clemson played for it this year and will be favored along with Alabama to play for it next year....UT will be favored in the sunshine bowl against another Big Ten power like Minnesota

We won a Natty in the last 20 years and was one game away from playing in it again in 2001.

There is no such thing as simple math for a UT fan. Please don't try to convince me you are relevant. Your program is light years behind Bama, Ohio State, Southern Cal, Mich. St. Mich, LSU, Ole Miss, Clemson, FSU, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Ok, .......and I could name 5 more...you are a nice mid major type bowl team...you have a wonderful fan base...but if you are honest you know you are not a consistent player on the national scene like we are in basketball or Alabama in football.
Now go back to your board and chat with your Orange clad buddies in la la land and get out some of those 98 championship bumper stickers and license plates, most of which now have rust on them.

Simple math bro. You said 20 years, 1998 and 2001 is less than 20 years. I'm just commenting on what you said.

Nobody is even close to Alabama and no Tennessee fan feels that way.

We are a traditional power and even you must see we are coming back.

We were a sec championship game away for playing for nc in 2001

Hate on lol

Because UK and Vandy boards are the only place they can run their mouth.
Because UK, Vandy and USCjr are the only teams that have free boards. Ironically those 3 teams are traditionally in the SEC cellar.

Alabama and Georgia have free Scout boards. And active ones too.

Go to Swamp Gas, a free and active Gator board.

Pretty sure all 3 have open 247 boards as well.

I'm sure they'll be happy to talk to you about Tennessee football.

I've noticed that Kentucky fans respect Tennessee, it's programs, it's history, it's current trajectory much more, if there aren't actually Tennessee fans present when they're discussing it.

This in particular is one hell of a troll job:

"Bama, Ohio State, Southern Cal, Mich. St. Mich, LSU, Ole Miss, Clemson, FSU, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Ok, .......and I could name 5 more...you are a nice mid major type bowl team..."

Sure, name 5 more. I'd like to see where you're going with this.

I don't care for the Vols very much, but I give credit where credit is due. UT was very close to playing for the SEC championship this year, in fact they were very close to being 12-0 heading into that game. I don't think you will disagree you should have won the UF, OU, Arky, games and was one stop away from beating Bama. Lost those first 3, 2 with double digit leads in the 4th quarter I can't remember about the Arky game and Bama went ahead with less than 5min to go. So UT could very well have been 12-0 playing OM in the SEC championship game for a spot in the playoffs. Dobbs is a dangerous qb, not so much with his passing, but his ability to pull it down and run with it. UT will be a big favorite to win the East this year and barring injury to Dobbs I don't see anyone in the East beating them, Bama with a new qb could be beatable too. But the negative part is I don't think Butch is a great game day coach, he wasted half a year of Dobb's eligibility trying to RS him, great recruiter and motivator but very average on the field coach. But UT will be tough to deal with as long as Dobbs is healthy this year and I expect them to represent the East against whoever comes over from the West, could be OM's year to break the drought.

There were close in some games....but it is like the old Vol coach Johnny Majors once said.....That if, "ifs and buts were candy and nuts it would always be a Merry Christmas."

Why are you Vols fans here? This is a serious question.

I already told you why. Kentucky will always be Tennessee's biggest rival. Our states just have too much in common. Unfortunately, they've owned us for forever.

If we can start winning regularly again, this will be nothing.

Well, you didn't actually tell me, but that's splitting hairs. What rivalry? They consistently beat our asses. These guys are just roaming around here to start ish.
