HS isn't a good team. They are a great team. Very good strong armed QB, two bruisers RBs and a OC that calls a great game.
Brodner may will GW to a victory but HS O-line is owning this game. I doubt anyone gets within 21 points of HS until the State semis. These dudes can play

Agreed. Let's see what GBW's conditioning can do. Surprised there are not more Hornet fas here.
Fumble at goal line by south. Brutal. GBW driving. 17-14 1:00 3rd. Ball at South 33. South had it to go up 24-14 fumbled at 1

HS completely fell apart after fumble on GBW 1. Fumble by a backup rb. Why is he put in this situation with Marcus curry on bench.
Tough loss for South. They can hang with the big boys. On to next week, DGS. South played well for 3 quarters. Fumble on 1 was the play of the game. 99 yard drive follows, then a pick 6.
50-24. South will go 7-2 and do well in 6A. Good game to watch. Still can't believe that fumble at the one, smh. Good game GBW, solid team.
HS is good no doubt. Game reminded me of playoff game with Barrington last year. Good luck Hornets.

You could clearly tell that both teams were well coached. There were no lucky plays, the refs didn't get involved. It was a straight up slug fest. Fun game to watch.

What a great game! HS has some big time weapons on offense, with a quality qb, a couple of running backs, and 2 or 3 good re eivers. It took GW 2 qts to make the defensive adjustments to get HS in control. HS scored 2 TD 's in the 4th qtr against GW'S second team defense, so I think 14 of their 31 were kind of cheap. GW'S offense struggled to get its game plan established, but Coach Hetlet took over and got them on track late in the 2nd quarter. It wasn't until the 3rd quarter that the defense delivered a big turnover with a terrific goal line stand. From that point on, GW was clicking on both sides of the ball. HS should have a great season. And GW should gain a lot after this game.
A ton of respect for the HS players. Those guys can deal but you can see what happens in the 2nd half at Duchon. Field, heat and having to play your studs both ways really wears everyone down. If it was 45 degrees out there, the score might not have been the same. HS will go a long way in States. They have a great set of players.
West emptied the bench early in the 4th quarter so much so they had to call off the JV game. Of course the HS JV kids din't get to play because HS coach decided to keep 1st unit on the field until the last play. So really, the score was 43-17 before scrub time. Shame those JV guys from HS won't see the field this week.

I was surprised when the HS first team offense came out in their last 2 offensive series. Wasn't sure what their coach was trying to do with that. But GW'S last TD was by their second offensive squad, and that group has some real speed in the backfield. They were going against HS defense that was a mix of reserves and a few first team guys. I thought HS was extremely well coached, and they can really play smash 'em up football. And maybe the biggest winner today was the turf at Duchon. No rain, just dry and hot. It might just make it to November.
