Sounds like the cat is out of the bag with Jax. Pyles hinted about a 133 in a few months on FRL today. I posted about it a few weeks ago but it was deleted

I was told to leave this one because Flo talked about it.

However, it is still very much unknown if he will use any eligibility. He may come early, but with an RTC focus. He may still decide to stay until prom?

Is it possible we see him in Orange this season, yes it is. Is it certain, it is NOT.

I get it. Just seems extremely short-sighted to me. You aren't dethroning PSU without being strategic and maximizing your team points when you have a legit shot to win. Mindset and belief are incredibly important but that doesn't change the fact that pushig up Jax's clock takes away a ton of team points when you should be a lot more competitive. Even with Jax they might not come with in 70 points of PSU next year. Awesome mindset or not.

Honestly good for him. That’s the mindset you need to have you do want to win a championship.

I knew it was a strong possibility but like Chase it wasnt my place to say. Not sure it was Pyle's either at this point but oh well. I do agree with what Corby that I think it will/ should depend on how Figs is looking. Between Knox and Ayala and others before November is even done, we will have an idea.

I'll field this one. This is an OKLAHOMA STATE WRESTLING forum. The team comes first in every way. I care far more about the team than "breaking" some maybe news about (in this case) the future of a high schooler that affects him, his family and the OSU team. I'm not an admin on this page and have no desire to be but I feel better there are guys who are that are using discretion about what is allowed to come out and what isnt.

There is way too much volatility with NCAA rule changes, injuries, and transfers to make it worthwhile trying to scheme out a team five years in advance.

Sure ... if Dee, Vega and Robideau are your best options at any weight send them out there and don't worry about four years from now. I agree completely put your 10 best guys out there. I just don't see the point in taking a kid out of HS to be part of that 10. I think when what should have been Jax's senior year rolls around we are going to wish we had those slam dunk points then and not used them in 2025 to fight for second when the kid should have been enjoying his prom.

End of the day ... long way from it actually happening and in DT we trust. If they send Jax out there it will be fun as hell to watch. And of course if Jax is just dead set on doing it you do it.

I don’t have the ability to moderate Pyles, I would’ve. It’s not the right time to make any declarations bout what the World Bronze medalist is going to do. It’s very much still discussion.

#1 - What does that do to the guys taking the mat before January? RPI is super important, don’t want those guys mailing it in because they heard it on Flo or read it here. When the facts are, there are unknowns.

#2 - Why make it hard on the staff in dealing with moral on pt. 1?

#3 - What if Jax wanted to announce?

#4 - What if Jax hasn’t had the discussion with his girlfriend? His friends?

#5 - What if Jax wants to be the first 4xer at 4 different weights without a loss? (Okay, that’s my wish.)

It’s not a big deal, I know OSU didn’t want it out and I’ve got suspicions why. It’s out, but it’s not determined.

100% did notice it. Not sure how I feel about it. I would rather a recruit be loyal to either OSU or a real loyal OSU wrestler (at least one that sports the red white and blue). RBY is awesome, but I got a feeling from an interview he did earlier this year, he could jump ship at any moment. He didn’t seem to care where he wrestled.

I am a little nervous about retaining Ross as he is such a high recruit for football. There will be a lot of money thrown at him and professional opportunities are pretty high for him.

I hate to say it but, for sure this year, it is a punt in terms of vying for a national championship, less so each of the following years. This year, it will have to be a moral victory and relish in terms of the development of the individual athletes. That being said, I could see them making the podium again, but I would not hold them to that bar. I’m just excited to see them compete and develop. That’s just me.

Just find it funny that things are said here all the time about other recruits and where they may go and thats not deleted. What if those athletes wanted to announce?

However, I don’t feel this was exercising a freedom that was harmless to all involved. Meaning, your freedom stopped when it could hurt the parties on the other side. I don’t take you as a guy that wants to “hurt” people or be a problem for a young person.

The other side of this didn’t want it discussed or public until it was solid. It’s not, so it wasn’t going to come from a place that I could help and it’s still not solid.

It just so happened that somebody else put it out and we have no ability here to stop what other outlets/people do or say. Not a big deal really.

I know Willie has information that he keeps wrapped up, this was really no different.

TY for your service and good attitude Chase. The Iowa forum is a great example of what happens when a message board has zero moderation and poor attitudes. People can get butthurt about the mods here but I bet you most of us appreciate the consistency in expectations. If McCort knew, which I have no reason to doubt that, why do you think they didn’t break it? Because their teammate didn’t want them to?

I know it was getting out, I’m just saying it wasn’t coming from here until the okay to send it came through. IMO, it’s just respect for the young man, his family and the staff.

It gets to the boards pretty quick generally. It’s hard to scoop guys like Mineo, not that the goal here is to scoop anything.

Pyles, Willie and the rest of the talking heads generally do a good job of keeping sensitive info under hat until it’s appropriate. Of course there are situations that happen like Blaze to PsU that accidentally get leaked.

@Corby2 it is of note that the guys that knew Bo wasn’t committing here had that info well in advance of the announcement and it was kept as non-definitive here as possible. Even though it was all over Mineo’s, other forums and even some podcasts. There are 3-4 guys here that could’ve stole the spotlight from Bo…it wasn’t done. There were also about dozen comments that were deleted about that situation.

For what it’s worth I hear things early too, but when I’m told to keep shut I keep it shut. If others aren’t so quiet that’s their business. It’s a message board thats wrong a lot. Deleting things makes it more prominent IMO. And fan boards aren’t changing any kids minds
