HSHS Football team honored.

Henrico County honored the HSHS State Champ football team this week. This team had an unbelievable run this year. The numbers of kids on All Metro, 5A All Regional and 5A All State is mind boggling! The most incredible number you will hear announced here is the number of kids on Honor Roll!!!! 40 of the 65 on the roster are Honor Roll Students!!! Wow! This is a reason why so many Springer Football Players are receiving Full Scholarships to go to College!
28 players on All Conference; 14 on 5A All South Region; 10 on All Metro and 12 on VHSL 5A All State
Also, Greg Dortch 5A State Player of the Year and
Laren Johnson 5A State Coach of the Year!!
Great job kids, teachers, coaches and parents!!!!

With regards to academics that is no surprise if anyone knows coach Johnson and the program he runs. He demands excellence out of his kids off the field. Well deserved.
He has done an unbelievable job with that program. He took them from good to great! Plus he did it the right way.

Someone needs to call the appropriate State Senator or Representative and get these kids invited to the General Assembly to be recognized.
