He’s the real deal for sure. I liked when the announcer said as a FR he’s the best player of the floor by far.

That and we were just so much more athletic than NW & just completely shut them down the last 10 minutes we’re the stories of the game.

Who was the last HS recruit from MS that was a legit scorer that we landed? Hood?

Seems like never win that battle (nba).

His size is what probably keeps him from 5 star, but I don't recall having any freshman having a 23 and 29 point game in the first 5 games. I know we've missed a couple to the NBA that could have. Did Hood ever score 30 pts? Hubbard is gonna have a 30 pt game, just a matter of time. Hubbard is the perfect recruit. Undersized so not a threat to go NBA early, but he's good enough to take over a game.

Good call. I totally erased him from my memory bank.
I get that. Speaking of that year, I guess Q could also be in that conversation, although I don't think we knew he would be the scorer he ended up being. He would have been one of our alltime greats under a different staff.

I don't put Q in the recruitnik sphere as Hood, Newman, Bender, Ellis, Booker (sorta).
