I agree… he could be great if you surround him with talent so he’s not taking all the shots like he had to at miss state… put up 40 3 times I think this year… I’d like to see him here… not sure why miss st coach hasn’t been fired yet

I agree with the poster above. I think if you put some other really good players around him, he could be dynamic.
I mean, the kid is already dynamic, but he could be dynamic in a team role.

I’d much rather have him knowing he can score 30 in the SEC rather than some kid from central Arkansas who averaged 16 against whoever they played all year, putting up 6 against real teams and shooting 30% from the field.
This -- I wouldn't worry about the defensive aspect. Poop's teams don't play D.

Now some goober is gonna come back w/ their def efficiency or whatever ****, ignoring the layup lines and open 3s other teams get in front of our very eyes.

He's good but not sure he would fit on a supposed better team concept of sharing the ball.

Also, not that anyone cares but think I'm gonna be back tomorrow. This site is gonna be a joke today lol

Right now unless Pope pulls a rabbit out of his Hat we're looking at 2 under 6-foot PG type players. Ani't gonna get it done on Defense. Sad we're we are at, at the present time!
Idk where this perception of 6 ft can't defend has come from. 6 ft guards are fast as lightning and more than capable of defending. It may be it be the best thing to win a title but pope ain't winning a title next year. We just need to be top 15 type team and be relevant

Not a perfect fit . He’s a midget that’s horrible on defense
I somewhat agree, although toned down. He's short (shorter than the 6'0 he's listed, more like 5'10) and bad on defense.
He's also quite streaky on offense, in nearly half of his games this year (14 of 32) he shot <40%, and in nearly half of his games (15 of 32) he made <30% of his 3's.
Add that to bad defense, which makes him a liability in 45% of the games he plays.
Yes, he can win you some games, but he'll lose you just as many.

Case closed!

Hubbard is a chucker. But if you need a basket, there aren't many other guys in college who can score like he can. Hubbard is a take if the asking price isn't absurd.

If you are comparing Hubbard to Wheeler you either don't know **** about basketball or have never seen the dude play. He elevates 3 ft on his jumpsuit and is a silky smooth scorer. Wheeler was a pass first pg. Sun/moon comparison
Maybe you should take your own advice. I know more than you can even dare to comprehend. Wheeler was not a pass first PG. How many times did he drive in the lane and get blocked and caused turnovers? How many where upset with him because he was a little too selfish? They are close to the same height, but yes Hubbard can shoot the lights out, I never said he couldn't. Maybe before you post keep your mouth shut before everyone knows you're a fool. So many dumb people on this forum now.

Pope could turn him from Josh Hubbard to Josh Carrier for the love of the front of the jersey.
There you go again, disrespecting the coach again. Just what other coach do you think would come here and put up with all this crap you have put Pope through. The only program in the country similar to the way you treat Pope is North Carolina. Well they Ren their coach off and have they found a coach willing to take that program ? No they have not. A big bag of money is not always the answer. You keep talking about Kentucky's tradition, well the Cats haven't been relevant since 2012. I am an old man , and most of those championships were won before I was born or before I was big enough to even watch basketball. I am 73 years old and the Cats have 2 championships in all those years, 2. The tradition you keep talking about was before most people on this board were even born. Leave Pope alone and let him do his job.

Seems many have soured on Hubbard. There was a time when he was coming to UK to play with Reed who was surely coming back for his sophomore year. Kidding. Kind of.

Seems like you need to recount the championships since you have been alive lol.

You need to read what I said. I said we have won 2 championships since I have been big enough to be watching basketball. I wasn't big enough to watch basketball when I was 2 and 5 years old.

I'd say you were big enough to watch basketball in 1978, 1996, 1998, and 2012.

Dude not trying to argue but if you are 73 surely you watched the 78 title, 1996 title, 1998 title & 2012 title correct ?
