I hope he doesn't end up at USM. Our luck he goes to Southern and leads them to wins over us when we play them down the road. I hope he is available if/when we need a HC in the future.

which they are- actually 9-3 is looking like a worst case scenario with 11-1 being best case- and they do have a legit shot at that- then yes, we do aspire to be as good as ULL.

I just don't agree with that. Plus, how would he recruit? I just don't think you can win in the SEC consistently with Miss HS talent. Miss 4* talent is not as good as La andAla 3* which makes Miss 3* talent equal to 2* out of state players.

with OUR schedule.

I don't think we would have to be concerned about recruiting with Hud. Our best players are from Mississippi- regardless of the star quality, it's where we are, there is talent here, and we would be foolish to not try to get the best players we could.

Blaine Clausell was a two star guy from Alabama BTW. A two star guy is a two star guy. The problem is we need to get a couple of 4-5 star guys to win the SEC- like that Jason Croom guy in addition to the best players from Mississippi. We don't need Alabama,Auburn, or LSU's leftovers.

We don't need to be passing up people like Sherrod, Norwood, Dixon, Chris White, KJ Wright, Pernell McPhee, Vick Ballard, Bumphis etc.- all from Mississippi high schools or JUCO's. If we can clean up the state, we can win 9-10 games a year. And if we add a couple of legit four-five star out of state players, then we can do even better. Cleaning up the state is the tricky part- but if anyone can do it, Hud could do it.

Finish last in their conference that you compared it to. One that hasnt been to a bowl in 40 years. And i honestly dont follow swac football so i honestly cant tell you if the team leading the swac right now meets that criteria or not.

Good gosh triton. You have been sucking Huds pecker for over a year now. Dude's a good coach no doubt, but you need to ease off the gas a little bit. It's getting creepy.

you kinda went off. Through 6 games Hud is out coaching Dan. Would you say he's not? Dan will have guys every year that will do a better job that year than him. That is inevitable. Hud is only getting paid $360,000 at ULL. State could easily double that. Would he be willing to come back as a coordinator?

That's the bottom line. The only good team they have played beat them 61 to 34 and there is no way OK state scores 61 on us.

I don't think anyone can honestly disagree with the thought of Hudspeth being a good coach, but saying that he's automatically better than Dan beating powerhouse teams like Florida Atlantic and Nichols State is a bit ridiculous. To have this kind of turn around in his first year is pretty impressive, but you guys need to hold your horses. If Hud is able to maintain this type of success, there's no doubt he'll be looked at for a higher paid coaching job and if he's able to do the same exact thing he's doing at ULL at a larger school then you guys would be right, but that remains to be seen.<div>
</div><div>Have you guys forgotten about Turner Gill and how he was able to turn quite possibly the worst team in NCAA history into a competitive school and win it's conference championship and to go (not win) to a bowl game for the first time in it's history? They were so bad in football at one point that the school had to suspend play for some years and start all the way over in DIII. Now Gill is at Kansas and just this year they've had over 60 scored on them twice.</div><div>
</div><div>What about Dan Hawkins when he went from Boise to Colorado? They never even finished a season above .500.</div><div>
</div><div>I'm not saying all of this todiscreditHud by any measure, but to say he's a better head coach than Dan when he's at a more inferior school playing a schedule that shouldn't even be in the same breath as ours is beyond premature to me. It's not guaranteed that Hud would have even more success here than Dan has had or will have (in the converse, it's not guaranteed he'd do worse). I don't even know why this is even being discussed.</div>

There were a couple of others suggesting Hud would be better than Dan (at least how I took it). So I just decided to respond to the latest comment that seemed relevant. Probably could've responded better.

has a clear agenda/obsession/man-crush whatever for Hud. Triton is convinced Hud is going to be the next Knute Rockne. And it's not because he is 5-1, if you will remember, Triton wanted Hud to be the Head Coach when Sly was let go.Hell Hud might be the next great coach, but I am tired of Triton telling us about it every damn week. Give it a rest weirdo.
