Matchups all across 1A. Here are a few that I've seen

1Chillowie (8-0) vs Patrick Henry (8-0)
Riverheads (7-1) vs Central (7-0)
Northumberland (7-0) vs Rappahannock (7-1)
West Point (6-1) vs King William (6-1)

Should be a heck of a week. Which one should be GAME OF THE WEEK?

Whoever wins the Rapp v Northumberland game wins the NND, but I’m also really excited for the king William vs West Point rival. Both teams are better than last’s years it’s the pass that will kill West Point still

I seriously doubt the Chilhowie game will be real close......Chilhowie by at least a couple of TD's if not more and that is being generous.

Chilhowie vs PH in my opinion. On paper I think all the games look to be close but in reality I believe Chilhowie, Riverheads, Northumberland , and KW all win by double digits. KW might when by 20+, WP hasn't played anyone since CB.

Yes, big week.

Obviously, I am looking forward to the historical NND title fight between Northumberland at Rappahannock.

If NHS can win on the road, just Lancaster left for their 1st outright NND title since way before any of the current players were even born.

Rapp has NHS and Essex left in the NND.

I also look forward to hearing about the battle between Chilhowie and PH. The only other undefeated 1As left with Northumberland.

As for Riverheads v Central W. I would actually love to see Riverheads beat Central as they are the #1 team in Class 2A. I pull for 1A.

However, would a big win like that possibly ensure Riverheads of home field? In that case....

The only time I have seen Central W was a few years back. Essex dropped about 50 on them. I am sure Central is much stronger now.

I posted this in the other thread as well.

I asked the question of how good Patrick Henry was and how come you didn't hear alot about them on SWVA board last week. Everyone on there talked like PH has played the weakest schedule in state. That Chilhowie would win easily,no contest.

Essex beat Central Woodstock 48-28 in 2012. Kind of irrelevant to current discussions.

For the current version, the Red team lost to them 21-6, and rolled through the playoffs with Essex being the only challenger. Central is in a good cycle with a very large contingent of seniors that play hard nosed football. Gonna be a tough game

The past may be irrelevant to many -

To me "The past is never dead. It's not even past."

- but yes, I understand what you mean.

Why do you say Central is the #1 team in 2a? They arent the #1 team in their region.

uhhh....Central W has been ranked #1 in 2A for awhile now.

maybe there are many Central High Schools. I was thinking of the Central named after the music festival where the hippies got messed up and hallucinated in the mud on some farm up north.

What ranking? They are 2 in ranking in power points in 2b, I dont look at rankings on here or other rankings. But if I did, they are actually ranked 4th on MaxPreps, behind East Rock, Appomattox, and Glenvar.

Virginia Preps has them ranked #1

Saw on another post that Chilhowie and PH were in a virtual tie at power points. Also read the PH schedule is weak and they both are 8-0 how would the power points match up?

Good call. KW 16, WP 6. 10 points is technically a win by double digits.

Are you looking for moral victories? If so congrats. WPs depth is an issue, no offense to those kids who bust their butts but it is. They have a few kids that would start on any team for sure, just not enough. I'm sorry if it hurts your feelings that I have an opinion. I don't think I've said anything that isn't true or takes a shot a WP.

I said "good call". I'm agreeing with you. You called for a double digit victory and 10 points is double digits.
