From what I know, coach Huggins is never wrong. Curious why players don’t listen more often

It's like a child that doesn't listen to a parent. Eventually they learn. Then say ohhhh that's it.

It's a good thing that it isn't in Huggins' best interest to tell his players not to turn pro early. What if Deuce gets a guaranteed contract worth millions of dollars? What will you say then?

Yeah, Devin Williams and Derek Culver would have been NBA Lottery picks, if only they had returned to NBA big man factory WVU for a fourth season...LOLOLOLOLOL

But maybe they could get in a better league with more money over seas dipshit with another year of college exposure It’s not all NBA 😂 but off to play in the Middle East on the suicide squad

You resort to cussing and name-calling when you're wrong. You have no support for your fanboy argument that WVU's bigs should stay in college for four years in order to maximize their income potential. Only one WVU big has cashed in big during Huggins' tenure at WVU, and he was a Beilein recruit who left school early.

Their potential had maxed out already. They were good rebounders and defenders not much else. Another year would not have made much difference.

I saw an interview with Huggins a few years ago and he said that if the player is a 1st Rd pick, he tells them to leave...just too much money to turn down.

And you know that they definitely wouldn't develop with another year. You know this more than Huggs? Especially when Huggs says they should come back? 🙄

Some players can never develop because they don't work hard enough at it. Some it will not matter how hard they work at it they will still not get any better than they already are. This is not always on the coaches as some claim it is.

Would I like to keep them 4 years and or 5. Sure would. But it doesn't mean they will improve.

Culver and Williams were never going to be NBA players no matter what they did. So if playing overseas ball was the pinnacle of their options, then it was the right move to leave. If you are a guy getting overhyped to the point of being a lottery pick that you have no business being like Alexander, the right move to make is to leave. Deuce was caught in a tough spot. He was never going to be a lottery pick, but he was getting all this talk about being a mid first round pick. Very hard to do much better than that, but he still had room to improve. Now if he was projected to more likely go at the spot he ultimately went, he would've benefited from staying. A strong season could make a difference between 1st or 2nd round selection for a guy as talented as Deuce. He unfortunately took a chance that was not completely unreasonable and it seems to he fell on the side with lower upside.

The two flaws in Bells' argument are that he is ASSUMING that Deuce would have become a First Round Draft pick had he stayed in college for another year, which is pure conjecture, and that Deuce won't get a contract similar to what a late first rounder would sign, which also is unknown at this point. More often than not, early second-round NBA picks are getting substantial coin these days, and returning to college forfeits the first year of an NBA salary, which may never be made up. In short, we have to wait-and-see the NBA deal, if any, that Deuce signs before drawing the conclusion that he made a mistake by leaving college now.
