Very excited for this season, hope everyone stays healthy and out of trouble this offseason. We can contend for the Big XII title with this roster, and potentially the Final Four if we draw the right region.

Prior to moving to GA this year, his only D1 offer was Bethune Cookman. However, after a great senior year (one that he proceeded by announcing he was reclassifying to 2016, which explains the lack of offers), he has gained attention from enough high major programs like Arkansas, St Johns, Ole Miss, Cinci, Tenn, Georgia, and South Carolina

Huggs found him while watching Edrice Adebayo play AAU ball....... they're on the same team.

I'm confused, did this guy commit or did he not or did he commit and then de-commit...... What's-up? [smoke]
At this time he is not considered a commitment. WVU is still looking at other guys and I think you'll see a decision made rather quickly.

These situations confuse the hell of out of me. Did he say he was committed and then not committed?

I might be one of the only ones who feel this way but Im excited for next season with just the core of new and returning players we have. Anybody else we might add would just make it even better IMO. Either way next season should be very exciting.

I'm with you brotha. Even without the new guys we had a special group coming back. We're adding talent and depth to that. What's not to like?

He didn't commit at the time that some decided to run with the story. We try to confirm these situations with both the player and other sources and that's why we didn't run with a commitment story. At this point I think WVU will add a new commit and it's likely to be him and happen 'very' soon.

I guess that make you guys about the only 'news' organization in the ENTIRE FREAKIN' UNITED STATES that is actually reporting the 'news' as opposed to trying to create the news or be the news.....

Good Job Gentlemen, we need more decision makes making those type of calls. [thumb2]

Sounds like we want to see Eubanks in person before we make a decision. This has all the makings of a kid that wants to commit and is being put on ice for a minute.

It's a good team on paper. And we pretty much know Huggs is gonna get them to play hard. But I think the Kentucky game showed just how far away from a contender we really are. Guards that are 6'2" tall will have to shoot the ball like Steph Curry if we are to contend for a national championship. In college ball it's still athletic ability that separates the really good teams from the contenders. That's why it's really hard for a non-blueblood to win one. They pick the teams you have to beat with the scraps they didn't want.
That being said this team will win a lot of games and be a blast to watch if they buy in like last years team did. And ya have to be happy about that.[cheers]

name one team in 2015-16 that is remotely as big as UK was ................. there won't be a roster that size for 50 years in the college game.

Name the last team that won a national championship with small one and two guards. I'm not knocking our kids. They were awesome last season and I think they squeezed a lot out of what they have. I'm just saying it'll be really hard to win a national championship with our lack of size. Even our wings and power forwards are small when compared to the guys that Duke, Kentucky, UNC, Kansas, and even Baylor are gonna be putting on the floor. Our bigs average 6'7", the guys in the final four on a consistent basis have shooting guards that size. That's not a personal attack on anyone it's just an observation.

"Name the last team that won a national championship with small one and two guards."

2015 - 6' Tyus Jones, 6'1 Quinn Cook
2014 - UConn - 6' Napier, 5'10 Boatright
2013 - Louisville - 5'11 Russ Smith, 5'10 Siva
2012 - UK - 6'2 Marcus Teague, 6'4 Doron Lamb
2011 - UConn - 6' Kemba Walker, 6' Napier
2009 - 5'10 Ty Lawson, 6'3 Wayne Ellington

man, I could keep going, and going, and going

Our likely starting five is: 6'3, 6'3, 6'8, 6'7, 6'9

then, we bring in 6'2, 6'9, and 6'9 as our first subs

Neither would Williams III from Mizzou, but we are still interested

You are saying this knowing we took West's commitment. Simple deduction tells me we might not be finished.

Strange spring indeed. Watkins? Paige? Meyers not making it in? We are out of scholarships or is one of those transfers going to pay their own way as well?

Pretty sure it will all work out in the end, usually does. As far as predicting next years success, very difficult to do. To put some perspective on 2016, Vegas presently has us at 100-1 odds of winning the basketball NC. Approximately 30 teams have better odds, looking on the bright side $100 will get you $10,000. I have seen crazier things happen. Might have to drop a C note down myself, looking forward to the continuing improvement of last year's team.

Now that he's officially signed we can get back to praising the class. My question is will this be the last recruit we take? Didn't someone post that we were looking at transfers too?

But I think the Kentucky game showed just how far away from a contender we really are.

You cite a blowout loss to what may one day be in hindsight one of the most talented teams on paper ever assembled in college as a reason we wont be great next year. Kentucky will have their share of blue chips again next year but odds are they wont be close to as good as last year, or even the 2010 team we upset. There will be your top 2-3 teams that will have a legit case to cruise to the Final Four, but I doubt there will be a team in the NCAA next year that we do not have an honest shot to knock off in a 1 and done tournament, which is what we want. I think we are being undervalued next year because we are not a household name school, and the fashion we lost to UK, but I suspect by mid December we will be on everybody's radar again.

We needed Devin Williams to have a great first half and for Kentucky to be looking past us, instead we got their attention and Devin had two personals in the first minute or so of play. Probably the worst matchup for us out of the whole field. But no excuses, they probably beat us 10 out of 10 times no matter what. All you can do is try to make the Sweet 16 and try to hang in and win. I look for another deep and scrappy team if Huggs gets them to buy in like last year's group.
