I'm starting to think, not full time but initially
Culver and Oscar should be separated.

Oscar and Culver to NOT play together for a while, (and see how that flows)
to get as many shooting scorers on the court as possible.

Taz, McNeil and McBride
need to find their confidence, together.

The next 5 games are very winnable.

Oscar should start,
and let Culver find himself.

But wouldn't this pretty much guarantee that Culver doesn't return to Morgantown next season?

Posters are throwing out as many ideas as Huggins has running through his mind. Alchemy in coaching is tricky business. Let's just hope the Oklahoma State resurgence and WVU's losing streak both end tonight!

Yep, could be.

Built like an Adonis - I watch NBA live here in DC, my thoughts is
Curver is not NBA ready, and
I don't think Culver is G - League ready.

Didn't stop Sags leaving -
(But great question).

Great question, but even the thought of that gauls me (selfishness of someone who can't even shoot free throws).

Can't manage a team
worrying about stupidity of players.

Culver not good enough to turn pro. But wouldn't surprise me if he left.

Rethought about your comment and Culver is the most uncoordinated Adonis in WVU history.
Culver is not ready, and moving Culver from starting was justified.

Culver is now under pressure
to earn playing time.

4-13, 0-5. Thank God for the savior

4 of the 5 threes were desperation, clock running out threes because the offense moved too slow. so basically 4 of 9. I do wish he would step in and shoot more because those are the shots that he does well. But on defense, he was rocking it. Staying in front of his man and the like. Get over your hate man and enjoy the team. McCabe is a liability defensively and does not shoot well at all. He needs to step inside as well and quit shooting from three. They would be much better as team if they would all do that.

The second half proved that we need Oscar and Culver out there together defensively........

In my heavily underrated post before OSU, Taz and McBride are our best chance to make a run. Unfortunately true FR and transfers don’t tend to get PT until they get his defense.
I think he is starting to get it. He has to. Our starting guards can’t put it in the ocean right now.

Putting in Oscar and taking out Matthews was a clutch move. Defense improved as did the rebounding.

Mathews drop off has been very dissapointing. I like him a lot but he has not been earning his time. Neither has Harler, or Knapper or McCabe. We have three bigs that MUST play in some combination. I am fine with seeing McBride, McNeil and Sherman on the court. I don't really give a **** if they miss a lot. We have rebounders. I like that all three of them know how to attack the basket. Haley has adjusted his game and deserves to be out there. So Culver, Tsheibwe, Osabohian, McBride, McNeil, Sherman and Haley. The others are relief pitchers. Mathews is first among them. That is 7 or 8 guys with guys on the bench that can come in in a pinch.

Dang.
I haven't seen anything that dictates a starter status in Matthews.

EVERY player on this very, very young team has been having up and down moments. But eventually it will all click and then, whamo! World, look out. 4 winnable games in a row left. Good time to be more up than own. Great stretch for thumbs-up rather than middle finger, too, for the fans.

Sherman & Mcbride
3pt 1-11
FG 8-24
Pts 20
Assist 3
TO 3
FG% 33.3
3P% 0.09

They need to do a heck of a lot better than that.

Look for the starting lineup to switch again. Huggins will not go small against Texas.

Sherman and McBride. Look at the season averages, not a couple of games. When you look at those, Harler actually doesn't look so bad. He and McBride are actually a lot alike, great games separated by awful games. If McNeil and Sherman had gotten the amount of playing time as others on the team, they might be more consistent, or maybe not. It is pretty clear that Mathews, McCabe and Knapper have had their chances and have not delivered. They ought to be used like Logan Routt is used. Sparingly. This team does not have a true point guard of the caliber needed in the Big12. McBride is out of position and McCabe and Knapper would probably be better off at a smaller school.

Great comments, nice thoughts.

Um the season now just re-started with Haley at point,
and McBride at 1/2, and Taz at 2.
Culver to bench, till 2nd half.

Ai all those season
stats are probably "out the door", for now.

Mathews is a pretty good rebounder and probably a better defender than either Sherman or McNeil, but I think bringing him off the bench and giving the JUCOs more chances isn't a terrible idea. Honestly don't know about benching Culver. There are some games where you want them both in the game. Might get his attention to not start a game or two.
