sideline at the Itawamba-Amory game. Shumpert has 3 TDs from inside the 5. He got burned on one long pass but it got called back. Itawamba 21 Amory 7 @ half.

Wound up 35-13 Itawamba. Amory made a game of it but with about 6 minutes left Amory dropped a 3rd down pass in the endzone from the 7 and then missed a FG. They were trailing 21-13 at the time. After that Shumpert broke two 50+ TDs. He also laid the wood on an Amory reciever, to the reciever's credit he held on to the ball but that was a big league hit. Shumpert isn't what I thought he was, that's NOT meant to be a diss. He is just a different type player than I thought. I expected a breakaway speed guy. He has a little of that but he got run down from behind tonight too. He is more of a power/bull type back. VERY durable, he had over 35 carries tonight. I'm sure he was way over 200 yards, maybe hit 300. He gets a LOT of yards after contact and he has enough pace to take advantage of the tackles he breaks. It was hard to judge him as a DB tonight because Itawamba was playing him in deep center field, not a bad idea when facing Amory. Amory's 2 TDs were LONG pass plays, whatever that means. That hit at the end was BIG league though. He passes the eye test for sure, he LOOKS like a SEC player. His play was a bit harder to judge tonight. I'd like to see him play again.

Yeah, I heard he was there.......Shumpert runs hard but he's not as fast as I

thought........Amory had a few players that he couldn't catch and one them was the Poole kid........Course he still had 200+ yards rushing behind that big O Line they have but he's definitely a safety or OLB at the next level.....He will knock your head off.......

You are correct, that score is misleading......Amory was right in the game and

dropping that TD pass and then missing the fg took the wind outta their sails......Two pretty good football teams though and both will be tough outs in north 4A......Saw a bunch of Nox. Co. coaches and kids there........They were behemoth......

Talked to some of the Itawamba faithful and they said that

between the two, Mullen was MUCH more personable than Freeze.....Said Mullen embellished photo ops and took photos with the entire h/c court and went thru the crowd shaking hands and speaking to people and after the game as he was standing around a group, and the crowd was yelling GO DOGS.....Said Freeze walked around with his head down and didn't say a whole lot and seemed "impersonable" and had that "I'm better than you" Ole Miss attitude.....I told them they were wrong.......He was just walking around with his head down because he was praying.......

Seems to be some truth to this. Yancy kind of said the same thing but spun it the other way. He said Freeze greeted the fans and shook all the coaches hands but then stood by himself and took notes on all the players throughout the game, constantly writing, while the other coaches were cheering on the game and waving to the fans as much as watching the game. As he said "different strokes". But yeah apparently you are correct

Not sure what Freeze would be taking notes for...if they are breathing they get a scholly offer. Especially a guy like Shumpert. He was probably just writing his Sunday school lesson.
