<span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD5">CORAL GABLES</span> (LALATE) – Will the <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD12">Gator Bowl</span> 2011 get Michigan vs Tennessee. The Gator Bowl has confirmed Michigan (7-5); but will Michigan face Tennessee or Georgia? Early <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD6">reports</span> say <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD18">the selection</span> will be Tennessee.
But <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD15">the key</span> could be the sponsor.</p>
The <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD1">Florida</span> Times-Union is <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD13">reporting</span> one nuance to the Gator Bowl; it’s seeking a title sponsor. A Michigan vs. Tennessee showdown could make the difference. </p>
Gator Bowl head Rick Catlett says advance <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD11">ticket sales</span> have been superb, even before the announcement Sunday. The bad news is that the demand may <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD3">shock</span> fans. Catlett says that, once the determination hits news Sunday, there won’t be more than a few thousand <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD7">tickets</span> <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD16">available</span> to fans.</p>
The Gator Bowl gets the fourth selection slot tonight after the <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD2">Rose</span> Bowl, <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD4">Capital</span> One, and <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD10">Outback</span> Bowls. The Gator Bowl gets a key telecast time slot this year, <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD9">New Years</span> Day from <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD8">Jacksonville</span>, Florida. “We’re going to do very well regardless of the teams we invite,” Catlett added.</p>
