Who runs the whole traffic plan for game day at the Hump? I park in the Palmeiro lot and it's hell getting there. I come in on HWY 12 from 82 and take the College View Dr exit. Today, I was 45 minutes early for the game yet it took me 25 minutes to get from the the HWY 12 bridge over College View to the Palmeiro lot. I can usually do this in less than 5 min on a football game day with 55,000 fans trying to get in. Why is it so difficult with only 10,000?
Here's what I don't understand. When approaching the Hump on College view from Starkville, you make the left turn into the Hump parking area. Immediately, there is a left turn lane for traffic to turn left to get to the Palmeiro lot. For some reason, they block this intersection so you can't turn left. That means, you have to go down to the 4-way stop and do a U-turn to get back to Palmeiro. Why the hell do they block that left turn??????? Because of that, they pump several hundred more cars into that already busy 4-way stop. Makes no sense.
