deal isn't finalized, but some players have been removed from games involved in the deal.

Looks like Houston gets Cosart, Singleton, and 2 players to be named for Pence.

That said, Singleton and Cosart were the Phillies top 2 prospects, so you can't knock that haul. Singleton is going to be a beast.

Astros had to do something to start improving for the future. The cupboard within their minor leagues is bare as is the major league roster. Good move.

But yeah, Houston is a complete trainwreck right now. They need to blow it up and start all over again- maybe that's what they are trying to do now. If I were them, I would release Carlos Lee and Brett Myers as well and build around Wandy Rodriguez and Altuve.

Looks like they've got their first baseman of the future and a good starting pitcher.

They will be building around Bud Norris and Jordan Lyles, which is why they were hoping to land Minor +1 from the Braves, because it would have been easy to imagine a pretty solid front line of Minor, Norris and Lyles all in their prime (with the exception of Lyles, who is still only 20) in about 3 years.<div>
</div><div>Also, JD Martinez just got called up. He has been an exciting player in the minors, very similar to Pence, so that should be interesting. </div><div>
</div><div>The team will try to flip Bourn, Wandy, Myers and Barmes over the next day and a half. They have the potential to really put together a nice farm with the completed Pence deal and the probably deals for Bourn and Wandy. </div>
