Do you believe Sallis' decision would have any impact on Podziemsky's? I wouldn't think that it should, but thought you might have some insight on that.

Well...kind of short-sighted to look at one 5-star freshman success & conclude that's the new norm.
Also short-sighted to think because UK is struggling in an off & strange COVID year that its a new normal.
If UK was attractive before the season no reason they should not still be. Although word is Sallis was VERY turned off by UK fanbase bashing players.

Can't blame the kid. I wouldn't move all the way from Nebraska to a program that has a fanbase that has been bashing it's own players.
Unfortunately this season has removed the mystique from our program and especially the notion that if you come to UK , Cal will make sure you are drafted the next year in the first round.
However that may not be a bad thing and perhaps it might break the cycle of a complete roster rebuild every year.

So next year its gonna be Askew and combo guard Hickman at PG huh? If Cal doesnt bring in a good transfer to play the position, consider next year a down year too.
Remember when it was a given UK would see a major uptick because of Lucas and the major representation UK had in the bubble?

It was a fact that Cal had to Anthem kneel with the team to keep great reputation with the black kids to ensure recruits would still follow him to UK....and the quotes "Cal has our back no matter what", etc..routine would make all kids and families feel so comfortable that kids would flock to him.

So Zags get the a true college freshman and we get the reclassify kid that should be a HS Sr....I wonder if we've seen how this is going to play out?
Hard to argue. But Cal’s having to rely of reclass guards lately. Just the way it is. I’m not sure what else he might do well, but I could at least guarantee he’ll be able to get around any defender put in front of him.

Your last statement doesn't really do anything for me. Our fans have been pretty tame and if Sallis goes elsewhere it is because he likes the Zags more and prefers Few over Cal.
But I do like the baseless implication that it's our fault that we won't land him.
The same guys imply that negative posts on message boards hurt recruiting.
We don't have even one RSCI top 10 kid coming in.
This is shaping up to be Cal's worst class since coning to UK. I think we'll be even worse next season with another mass exodus this summer and another season of overdependence on 2nd tier guards.
Now when Cal misses on recruits it's the fault of fans.You just have to laugh.
We have some lousy asst coaches. Until Cal decides to upgrade them and quit hiring old retread friends like Flint and Barbee and guys with very little coaching experience like Justus, we're not gonna be the gold standard going forward.
