So my older brother has started a charitybased in Kansas City, MO. He was a police officer in St. Louis for 4 years and is now an ATF agent int the KC area. The charity is called Hunting for Heroes and was created in an effort to allow Law Enforcement Officials who have been injured in the line of duty the opportunity to go on specialized hunts to accomodate any needs they may have.There is a Hero nomination form on the linked website which will allow you to nominate anyone you may know that may be interested in participating.
I'm running a bracket challenge on Yahoo! to support this charity. The entry free is $20 (10$ goes straight to the charity and the other 10$ to the prize pool). The scoring will be as follows: You'll get 1 point for a correct pick in the first round, 2 points for second round, 3 points for Sweet 16, 4 points for Elite Eight 8, 5 points for Final Four, and 6 points for the championship game. There will also be bonus points for picking upsets (upsets are classified by seeding in the tournament). If you pick an upset in the first round, you get 1 extra point, in the 2nd and 3rd rounds - 2 points, in the 4th and 5th rounds 3 points, and in the championship game 4 points.
Payment methods are listed on the website (paypal or snail mail) and other rules can be found there. Payment must be made by first games on Thursday the 16th (or atleast acknowledgement of check sending). If anyone has any questions, feel free to message me here or message me on the board.
