He sounds extremely focused and brilliant with his answers. Incredibly impressive and professional — none of the “we are young nonsense” we have come to expect from our coach. Just all business. Just my personal observation.
Those complete sentences are something we never hear from our boy. And, Hurley doesn't have to put his hands on the interviewer like our coach does.....He sounds extremely focused and brilliant with his answers. Incredibly impressive and professional — none of the “we are young nonsense” we have come to expect from our coach. Just all business. Just my personal observation.
Why?I’m going get burned for this but…….. I dislike Hurley immensely!
Yup, he’s locked in. We need to go after him so bad. UCONN will eventually make it to expensive to even try.He sounds extremely focused and brilliant with his answers. Be nice to have that at UK, just once.I expect the officials to hop out of his pocket every time they interview him.
Far more put together for everyone to see. Exact opposite of CCC in every way. Doesn't try multiple lineups hoping for magic to happen he trains them and puts in the lineups that work best for his goal of success. A methodical system where everyone knows their part.He sounds extremely focused and brilliant with his answers. I don’t care for UConn but like him or not you have to admire and respect what he has done with 1/3 the talent Cal has had.I’m going get burned for this but…….. I dislike Hurley immensely!
I do too, primarily because he’s coaching UConn and probably doesn’t eat meat.I’m going get burned for this but…….. I dislike Hurley immensely!
And he has to make silly promises to get them here. Something most other coaches are not willing to do (because it’s not worth it).Sad but true. Cal really doesn’t do anything well at this stage other than recruit kids who want to get to the nba as fast as they can.
He will never come to UK. Just my opinion.Yup, he’s locked in. We need to go after him so bad. UCONN will eventually make it to expensive to even try.
You can dislike him all you want, but give the guy the respect he has earned. He is a heck of a basketball coach.I’m going get burned for this but…….. I dislike Hurley immensely!
That's one of my biggest pet peeves with Cal. He does that with pretty much EVERY SINGLE QUESTION. It's so annyoing. And he doesn’t interrupt the person before they get the question out
I do too, primarily because he’s coaching UConn and probably doesn’t eat meat.![]()
This post is true and all of us are hurting over the demise of our something we all value so greatly.Cal is not even in Hurley league . We are on one year probation he’s clueless anymore - completely void of how to fix the mess
And they've all been practicing for a whole year knowing exactly what's expected of them when the first game starts next year and that's why it works from the gate. Disgusting CCC can't understand continuity and building a team.Cam Spencer isn’t an incredibly talented player, but does the right thing 99.9% of the time. Diarra comes off the bench for 15-20 minutes and does everything right. Last year they brought Clingan off the bench, this year it’s Johnson who is scary athletic and just gives a different look from Clingan and tons of energy. No break for you at all with Clingan out. They have 2 stud Freshmen that aren’t in the rotation who Hurley will have ready to step into starting roles next year. They both got decent run throughout the season, but Hurley kept the main rotation sharp. Solomon Ball and Jaylin Stewart.
Hurley ain’t slowing down…
And it’s his own mess at that but one he has little interest in fixing.Cal is not even in Hurley league . We are on one year probation he’s clueless anymore - completely void of how to fix the mess
Here’s the thing. He won 58% of his games in six seasons at Rhode Island. He then proceeded to go 73-47 in his first four seasons at UConn with no tournament wins. He’d have been run out of here at that point. That’s not a defense of Cal, it’s just the reality of the situation. He’s figured it out now though, that’s for sure. You can dislike him all you want, but give the guy the respect he has earned. He is a heck of a basketball coach.
I wish he was our coach. Bet you wouldn't "dislike" him then.
Same thing on here with ppls lately fawning about Purdue and how they've had all these guys stay. Painter would've been fired by now...and I'm sure ppl would've been real calm after they lost to a 16 seed last yr with national player of the year. Here’s the thing. Here's the thing. Hurley is on the verge of winning two National Championships in a row at UConn. That is a rare feat in itself that very few coaches have ever accomplished. Here’s the thing. Congratulations. You got all the Louisville fans to like your post. Even old Zipp himself, and Kerry Rhoades. Two of the biggest UK haters on the internet.Naw, he's a douche and a sideline clown. How many uconn games have you watched?
It amazes me that ppl are in such misery they'll literally pull anything that pops in their head on here.
"I noticed team A ties their shoes this way, we don't do that, that part of the problem...winners tie them the way they do"
I despise UConn but you're right. He's obviously a great coach that deserves respect. They've been great this year but that run last year was pretty impressive considering they were a 4 seed who entered the tournament with 8 losses.I don’t care for UConn but like him or not you have to admire and respect what he has done with 1/3 the talent Cal has had.

It would be a lateral move at best. He's too smart to do thatHe will never come to UK. Just my opinion.
The mark of any great coach is to surround himself with top assistant coaches to improve on his weaknesses.
And then, to actually allow them to help coach the players.
I am expecting Cal to do that real soon.
In defense of Cal, it’s not easy to ask yourself the questions and answer them too![]()
