Titty Bars from Lake Charles to Belle Chasse are now full of roughnecks evacuated from the rigs.

If The Chicken down in Sabine Pass is still open, then they will make a damn killing this week in beer sales.

I never understood why the roughnecks just didn't ice down..

...a few cases of beer and drink at the hotel. The guys I worked with would rather have gone from Titty Bar to Titty Bar, running up huge tabs, and not even coming close to scoring, than use that same money to drink at the hotel.

The only exception I could see is if you're put near New Orleans. After Hurricane Juan, we were under strict orders to NOT leave the Holiday Inn in Belle Chasse. My buddy and I took the Airport shuttle to a Rent-A-Car place, then drove to Fat City and partied the night away. Fortunately, they never caught us.

It's hard to be a badass at the hotel drinking beer. That was always my assessment of the situation.

Uh, let's see. Where would I rather drink beer? Hotel room or titty bar? Can't imagine why they chose the titty bar. **

Uhh, let me think. Spend $500, not even get a feel....

...and enrich local cajun deputies with speeding and DUI tickets..... Or spend $50, and have enough beer to party all night long.

My guess is that they spend weeks or even months out on the rigs. The last thing they want to see when they come in is a bunch of dudes in their hotel room. Got to get out and see the sights and some jugs.
