He was here because of Croom. I look for him and little bro to go to Bama.

Your on it saddawg and you know Bama is not going to overlook a kid with this talent. New they would come in at some point.

You want the family to be able to travel to one location so badly that you'll come off looking like the ***** by transferring to a school that never would have given you the time of day without you riding in on little brother's coat tails. I'd love to hear the conversations between little bro and Mark Richt. I mean... It's like Michael telling Hyman Roth that he has to accept Fredo if there's going to be a deal.

Good luck with that, Nelson.

He was basically 2nd string and would be a fair amount of playing time I believe. At last report his brother had us in his Top 5 which I wouldn't think would be the case if Nelson hated it at State. So what changed or what finally came out? Did he just think the TE's would not play at all in Mullen's system or did he think he was falling behind some other TE's? Or did Bama, who ignored him in the initial recruiting process, tell his family they'd take him too if his brother came?

i'd be willing to bet the bammers had their hands in this deal. Too many connections there and things just aren't making sense. not that it matters, but nelson is not the most talented tight end on our roster and there was not way in hell james was coming to the Jewel.

What exactly is the rule on releasing players? I know they must sit out a year if released, but what must they do if not released?

And for the record, I agree about not releasing him to another west school especially after he has started learning plays and such.

TE Hurst sucks. Big time. Only reason he is here is Croom/younger big brother. Quite frankly the only reason he received reps this spring. If younger big brother did sign somewhere else and he did stay, he wouldn't play. He would probably be cut.

If a school releases a player, they still have to sit out one season. But they can be placed on scholarship immediately, practice, and redshirt if they are still eligible. If they are NOT released from their scholarship, they have to sit out two years. And they must pay their on way the first year (aren't eligible to be on scholarship).
