We need speed, so if his 40 time is true in this day and age of inflated times, lets get him on board!

I think he is listing 5 just to list 5. He is visiting Clemson on 1/13 I think. If we can get a visit on 1/20 or 1/27 we may getnin the real picture. But right now, this isn't a real option.

Bradley from Bell. West and CJ Verdell from California are the guys I expect to see in the RB class.

It looks like a youth football gameplan. Get the ball to the athletic kid and get him to the outside. He makes a lit of nice cutbacks. What class he play in?

I thought that he said that he was coming to Lincoln 1/20

How many scholarship running backs do we have coming back next year?

I guess I am just a little confused by our recruiting efforts with regard to running backs so maybe somebody who knows more than I can enlighten me.
We do have Bryant, Ozigbo, Taylor and Wilbon coming back. Am I missing anyone? Seems kind of thin to me if that is all we have (since Taylor appears to be a bust). So why does it seem recruiting running backs is not a big priority for us right now? Or maybe it is and Davis is just not getting the job done? This kid from Florida seems to have some talent but he also does not seem to be a top shelf back either.
But what do I know? Maybe the kid is a real sleeper

They play in 6A, third highest classification in Florida.

About 1600-1900 students in the schools.

I was wondering the same thing. I keep waiting for Davis to pull a rabbit out of his hat and make all of us concerned about it look foolish. If not, it gets me thinking about what happened to Hank Hughes right after NSD last year.

And I don't think we are the only ones on this board who are worried about Davis. But right now we lack a real difference maker at running back. And so far it does not look like we will recruit one this year either.

As I said before, I think 2 backs sign in this class Verdell and Bradley plus Miles at FB.

If Adam Taylor stays for his 5th year, that is 6 scholarship RB and a scholarship FB.
And what is your opinion of the talent level of the two backs you mention as possible Husker recruits? I agree that six scholarship running backs is plenty. But Taylor appears to be a bust so right now we have three decent backs on scholie. So are the two you are projecting as recruits "projects" or will they be a factor within their first two years on campus?

I'm still struggling trying to figure out why this kid is only a 3 star. He plays big boy football in Flordia, runs a laser timed 4.3 40, benches 300lbs and had the 5th highest SPARQ score at the Nike Opening finals. The only kids with better scores were players like 5 star JK Dobbins (tOSU commit), 5 star Cam Akers (FSU commit), 5 star Jeffery Okudah (deciding between tOSU and Bama), and high 4 star Devon Hunter (who is deciding between Bama, Auburn, Clemson and Florida).
His film looks great and he looks better than a lot of 4-5 star kids.

Just my interest, but we seem to be having a lot of trouble with Oregon lately. What makes you think Verdell has real potential to flip? I would think he'd take to Taggert quite readily.

One thing to keep in mind for next year, Avery Roberts younger bro is a RB.

I've been harping on the subject of RB's. We offered Felix sometime in December, gives the indication that we are still looking. Verdell is committed to Oregon, unless he's decommitted since the last time I looked. Bradley, according to some, has issues with grades and doesn't even have a NU offer. Then there are the fan-wish flips of Tilford and/or Carr.

I don't know who we get, if anyone. We have one that's playing special teams, one that catches passes in the flats, one that averages less than 4 ypc, and one that's a true freshman. Not landing at least one RB in this class seems crazy to me.

I think Tilford is the mysterious one. Bradley will get an offer if his academics are in line.

We are fishing around, part, if not wholly responsible as to why many will shed no tears if Davis is shown the door.

However, of the available names, we have the *most* relationship with Tilford in D Williams. He's also the guy we are least going after, if not ignoring altogether. To my knowledge DW did not visit him after he was hired and even some of the press out of Arizona recruiting sites seemed to indicate we just weren't that interested in him.

We've spent a whole ton more time on Verdell as of late, but I really don't know what our chances are there. Tuco appeared pretty confident above, which is why I asked if he has some juicy tidbits to share.

The reason I am hesitant to believe he will visit is because Shelvin also said he would visit. Now he is announcing on 1/7 between LSU Alabama and Nebraska. Well he has been to two of this campuses and is "scheduled" to come to Lincoln on 1/13. Unless he is looking for some January vacation time in Lincoln, guessing he won't make that trip and he isn't committing to Nebraska sight unseen.
