This is just a comparison and not intended as an indictment of Cohen because I feel l like he will ultimately succeed. Look at Florida and O'Sullivan. He has been at Florida one year more than Cohen at State and he has been in the NCAA Regionals every year, the last two at the CWS. We made a super once. I know O'Sullivan came to a betetr situation but he has not had any falloff.

Are you saying he hasn't had any falloff ...that Cohen accepted a very talented team and has ran it into the ground?

Are you saying that when O'Sullivan took over he had **** for talent and in 5 years he has 2 CWS and been in the regionals every year?

didn't fl in 'year 4' under O'Sullivan have a team of fr, i mean i realize they are highly talented freshmen ...didn't they have a guy drafted in the 1st rd turn down millions to go play at fl for 3 years, don't think we been recruiting that kind of talent.

All the coach34 type talk about Cohencoupled withState's grand tradition espoused by others, why has Cohen not had even a resemblance of the success by O'Sullivan. Is it as you suggets that Cohen ain't recruiting on the same level or not coaching the game as well. When I was at State, Florida was generally competetive but not great.

Edited to add. Or is it just due to the better situationinherited. Just whythe disparity between the two?

If you're trying to defend Cohen by saying "Don't think we've been recruiting that kind of talent," then that's a fail. It's Cohen's job to recruit that kind of talent.

aGAIN- Fla has had 33 players drafted the last 5 years to our 21- 9 players drafted in the top 10 rounds to our 3

Ron Polk's last 5 SEC finishes:

2004- 9th
2005- 7th
2006- 9th
2007- 4th (CWS appearance- went 0-2)
2008- 12th

Florida in that same time:

2004- 6th (Super Regional)
2005- 1st (CWS runner-up)
2006- 11th
2007- 6th
2008- 3rd

Cohen hasnt even had a group of Freshmen recruits that can be drafted yet that he recruited. That starts this June. And you can plainly see- he wasnt left with much talent. Florida was

I don't see how you can compare us as the heyday MSU when we were nowhere near that talent wise when Cohen took over. This program had 3-4 good pieces of talent scattered through a roster of 25-30 players, when Cohen came in here. If you remember anything from year 1 of Cohen we got beat by JSU, we had absolutely no pitching, it was so bad we mixed in a couple juco guys and loaded on all pitching the first recruiting class, the next class hitting was keyed on to try and get the talent at least respectful for SEC. this last class is the 1st class that seemed balanced and it was a smaller class than most because of all the young guys we have on roster. I just think it is crazy to compare our program to the unquestioned #1 team in america and former runner-up of the CWS. That would basically be like saying why is Alabama having success and NC over MSU, Saban only got there 1 year before Mullen. ...Compare us to Alabama or Ole Miss or Tennessee in baseball

I don't consider Cohen's recruiting a fail. It is light years a head top to bottom from what we were getting. It hasn't been perfect, but assembled a team to give results in year 3 and be able to recruit off that why he rebuilt in year 4... for some reason our fans are panicking over the fact that we replaced 7/9 include DH positions in our lineup and don't think we should struggle at all.

People get to caught up in the ingame management of thousands of situations, instead of looking at the big picture ...then they throw baseketball in and say well Stansbury was the all-time winningest coach ...Most of our fanbase realize Stansbury did a great job and he raised expectations, but the last 5 years he didn't mean the one expectations he set, So he saw that, to bad our fanbase doesn't and HE RETIRED, we didn't force him into anything ...we offered a package, he accepted MOVE ON!!

Not fair to compare Cohen to O'Sullivan. I don't expect that kind of production from our coach and we shouldn't be disappointed when we don't achieve as much as he has at Florida.
