Hypothetical BCS scenario with Florida and Bama.

Suppose Florida wins out, Texas loses to a nobody, and Alabama loses to LSU. LSU makes it to Atlanta and gets blown out by Florida. Does anyone think a one loss Alabama team could still sneak in and face Florida in the BCS title game? I don't see how a loss to a top 10 one loss LSU team would be enough to knock Bama very far down but it could still keep them from Atlanta.

As you know it's as much about when you lose as who you lose to. Like em or not if your scenario plays out, USC would be in the title game if they win out. Bama won't make it in if they are not in the SECCG. That happened with Nebraska several years back I think, and they are not about to let that happen again. Didn't LSU jump UGA with two losses two years ago to get into the title game?

USC is currently sitting at 7th in the BCS and there really are no marquis games left to help them out. Does when you lose hurt as much in the BCS standings as it does in the voter polls?

They would never let two teams from the same conference into the Title game. If things really did work out that way, then they both should be in the Title game, but it would completely alienate the rest of the country. Plus all the big money markets would be pissed.

The frustrating thing is that if two Big 10 or Pac 10 teams went undefeated but did not play each other during the season then they could make the BCS title game since they do not play a conference championship

- Say Texas loses to someone they shouldn't (Like A&M) in the regular season in the season finale. Would USC be able to jump an undefeated Cincinnati or Boise team?

-Wasn't there a possibility of a rematch national champioship in 2005 when Michigan and Ohio St. were both undefeated until they played each other? I know Florida ended up winning that year, but i seem to remember there being a possibility of them playing for a second time.

But I think the remainder of Boise State's schedule will drop their standing even if the win out. I am not so sure about Cincinatti. To tell the truth I forgot they were even in the picture. It would be a stomping of epic proportion if Cincinatti has to face Alabama or Florida.

They'll put USC in. Boise State will never play in the NC game, and an undefeated Cincinnati team maybe would get in.

I know it's a hypothetical, but I don't see LSU beating Bama or being a Top 10 team. LSU has not impressed me. They look like the rest of the SEC West minus Alabama.

They have Illinois (will give them some Big 10 points) and after their next two conference games, they play three teams that are a combined 15-4.

Iowa is the sleeper sitting at 6th with only Ohio State really standing in their way for an unbeaten season.

USC has to go to Oregon. If they get out of that one alive they could make some noise over Cincy, but an unbeaten Iowa is a better contender than a 1-loss USC.

I think Texas will lose to someone.

I don't see LSU being a top 10 either but if they can beat Bama then they are in the West driver's seat.

I think Iowa would be a lock if they go undefeated and Florida & Alabama lose. It Texas loses, it would probably be USC vs. Iowa.

But it's late October... still got a lot of games left to play. And like we saw last year, anything can happen. I think everyone in the top 10 still has a legit shot depending on if the teams in front of them lose. I can even see people making a strong case for Boise State or TCU based on what BS & Utah have done in recent years when getting to a BCS bowl game.
