Hypothetical question about this weekend

So lets say our guys play the game of their lives, and Florida comes out really flat. Tons of lucky breaks, and somehow at the end, we have a chance to kick a field goal or punch it in to win. Does anyone wonder if, for a split second, Mullen might hesitate, or make a riskier play call? I know the answer will be no, no way, and I know that if that happened then he should be fired. But knowing how close he and Tebow are, and knowing that our season is a wash anyway, and knowing how bad Florida wanted the undefeated season last year... makes me wonder just a little.

His desire to win is way too strong for this to happen.

And you better believe Tebow and Meyer aren't going to hesitate to run the score up on their pal Mullen if given the chance. Especially with Bama neck and neck with them for the #1 ranking.

Beating Florida means job security, potential raise, and elevation to God-like status amongst MSU circles. It also immediately substantiates himself as a high-quality HC nationwide. No way Mullen gives that up to a coach that will run up the score if given the chance or to a QB that already has 2 NCs, a Heisman trophy, and soon to be very fat bank account.

Even if you liked your boss?

This is a ridiculous notion.

Almost as ridiculous as my struggle to make the word "boss" look normal as a possessive noun.

stays at msu for yrs to come. i'm sure he has appreciation to meyer for the yrs and opportunity, but if his #1 wish this week isn't to beat fla then you got the wrong guy. i think he wouldn't hesitate to kick fla's butt if he can. might not run up a score but he would walk thru fire to win sat...........or as i say he's the wrong guy.

How can you say the season is a wash if we beat Florida? We would be 4-4 with a legit shot at making a bowl game.

other than he coached under urb for a few years there and won NCs as an assistant. It's not like it's his alma matter or he grew up there. Beating said Florida team would be a huge stepping stone for his career and would easily give him a raise here.
