Hypothetical: What if Clausell were to beat out Carmon for 1st string LT...

Would Carmon switch back to DT unless Clausell has to be taken out at LT for whatever reason? Just a hypothetical with no "inside practice scoop", but I think it would be a huge waste if Carmon spent the majority of the year on the sideline as the 2nd LT when DL depth is a concern this year.

Cheers to an non-negative (but not really positive either) MSU thread on Sixpack today.

Dan is adamant about having depth. I think his current plan is to play both of them about equally and keep them both fresh. So while Carmon may only get half the snaps, that's more than enough to keep him from being wasted, in my opinion.

Yeah, from what I'm seeing, it's looking like that at LT, DE, and LB, we'll be rotating early and often.

But if we get late in a game and need a defensive stop, I'd hope they'd be willing to move him back to DT for a series or two to give our starting DT's a breather.<div>
</div><div>I think by seasons end, either Carmon is an above average LT, or Blaine has taken over.</div>

Carmon won't be movedbecause ofdepth purposes. I fully expect him to hold down the starting spot through the season barring injury. Clausell will get lots of pt though.
