..not only is our D-line gonna be good but between Carmon and McPhee I think we'll be talking a lot of ****. I think Carmon is a guy that we'll be quoting years from now much like Smoot. I love thisquote from an article linked on BDJ comparing Carmon and T. Cody:

"I guarantee I'll be better than that guy," Carmon said of Cody, who preceded him at Mississippi Gulf Coast. "The difference between me and him is I can run. I'm not just a gap-filler. I can run and I'm mobile in the middle."

And this one as well:

"The biggest adjustment is the speed," Carmon said. "We've got a new D-line coach (Chris Wilson), so we really didn't know what to expect. But as we keep going and getting better and taking this coaching, we can see the D-line making improvement. I believe we're going to be the No. 1 defensive line in the country."

the NFL has to be drooling over a guy that is 6'7" 330 or whatever he is.

If he pans out into a all-SEC player, he could be a first round pick. Especially with so many teams going to a 3-4 in the NFL.

i don't remember (definitely doesn't mean it didn't occur) people going ape-**** for willie blade. I do remember Tommy Kelly being a pretty large target of conversation (there's a pun if you want it). It was before my addiction to the internet though. I do remember me and my dad going up to him after the spring game and him talking like he was the **** and going to dominate everyone.

Dad - "Tommy what are you going to do on that first play"
Tommy Kelly - "I dunno, but i'm gonna kill somebody"

Then the season rolled around and he mightily under-achieved (ended up with 2 sacks over 22 games).... he didn't play like a future NFL starter worth a 50.5 million dollar contract.

I'm seeing this season as bizarro 01. In 01 we just came off one of the best runs in school history, and blew our wad. In 10 we're coming in after one of the worst stretches in school history. I think we turn it around this year.

See Tim Bowens. Come in, dominate for a year and sign with an agent before exams.

The kicker is if you make a bowl game. Then he'd be ineligible for the bowl, but it's possible to play for a school without ever attending a class.
