I am excited about football next year

I'm probably in the minority on here. I think Lebby is improving as head coach and I know he's a good OC. We have Kamario coming back as our QB. The defense will be greatly improved with Arnett in charge. Whitson will be back to lead us in sacks. If we can keep most of the starters and add some quality players from the portal we will do well. We had a good HS recruiting class.

I am excited also. The team is improving. We cant get instant gratification like everybody wants. Maybe if we hired Cignetti but we did not. If we can add a few key pieces we might be good next year.

Yeah, and as always, we won't know anything for certain about this recruiting class for another 2-3 years, but it's really not very good on paper. People are looking at the team rankings as a sign of improvement, but our score is completely propped up by volume of commitments while most P4 teams are holding out for the portal. Going by the avg rating of our signees, we'd be somewhere about 56th out of 67 P4 schools, so the quality is definitely something other than great.

I’m not at all. Dead man walking coach who could only get an unhireable DC. We’ll strike out in the portal on the lines and any decent HS recruits we just got and KT will transfer out when we fire Lebby next year.

Seriously considering cutting my season tickets in half. Product on the field not worth the money and the complete ineptitude of our administration when it comes to football baffles me while I have to experience my wife and in laws host a playoff game with a absolute free pass to a quarterfinal Sugar Bowl.

Even with good portal additions, Lebby's team will still be the worst or 2nd worst in the SEC on both lines of scrimmage.
Every team will get better.
It is a sliding scale, and we are on the wrong end of it.

Graduated back in '79. Laughed at a lot of "wait until next year" fans over that time. I think with a good defense we can win a few more games. I'm not expecting us to make the CFP but I do expect improvements. With all the SEC coaching changes we have opportunities to win games while those teams learn new offense and defense schemes. I expected us to win 4 this year so a bowl win would be icing on the cake. If we can get to 7 wins with a 9 game SEC schedule I'll be happy.

I cannot say I am optimistic but I do feel a bit better than I did after the egg bowl because of the recruiting improvement and staff moves. I still have significant reservations about Lebby's coaching skills.
