I am finally in agreement that Stans has a problem...

It seems like every game one of these threads pops up, but I am finally tired of this team and their play. We seem to play the same game every time, play good for about 28 minutes, then decide to give up. We make the same mistakes every time, and we have no in game coaching. We never get better throughout a game. Stans didn't realize that SEC teams watch tape and realize that defending the 3 will work against us, and we have had no response...

I wouldn't even call it coaching, tonight I would call it carelessness. That performance was beyond pathetic

I'll listen to those that say that his recruiting abilities outweighs his failures in coaching. Hell, I might even agree occasionally. But those that think that Stansbury is a good coach--laughable. It's incredible that game after game we refuse to swing the ball more quickly on offense. I understand the TO's; we don't have good dribblers. But once we're set up in the half court, swing the damn ball!<div>

"step up immediately" or get out of town Stansbury bandwagon. Enough is enough.

That was as a poorly coached game as I can remember. Even worse that the Georgia game in the SEC tournament.

I was a big stans supporter back in the day, even thought he was a hell of a recruiter...but even the people he recruits, half dont make it to campus, now the rule has changed that you have to play one year and thats great but hell he cant coach the talent we have...I am almost in the thinking that we let him recruit and let someone else coach, this is pathetic, with the talent on our team we should be able to win games like this and like bama...that was absolutely horrible that we lost to bama and even worst we lost to ar kansas and yes i separated that on purpse...but hell win a damn game that you are suppose too! He always wins the games he shouldnt and lose the games he should..he has kind of turned into Croom in a bit. We should be in the top 20 year in and year out in basketball but we always end up sucking it up some how and we are tired of the bs!

But we're not the kind of team that's built for consistency. We're only going to be as good as our outside shooting. You can't bank on being consistent with that kind of team. We're better than last year, but not by much. Capable of beating the best and handing it over to the worst. We lack mental toughness and discipline... gaping flaws that can be relieved by hot shooting. Rick created this monster. He's gotta do something to change the team's approach. We're not adapting, and we need to now. <div>
</div><div>That said, I don't think there's any way he'll be gone after this year. We're still probably going to end up with a bye in the SEC Tourney, and a spot in the Dance. Going to be tough to justify a change with results like that, even if he doesn't seem to be doing much as a coach on the floor.</div>

the D was looking good at times but I honestly don't think Stans knows how to draw up a back door layup in a half court offense...

this was a pitiful team we lost to.. and we let one guy who I think had an injured leg beat the **** out of us..

nothing but jacking up 3's and occassional slashes to the basket... no screens and clean lay ups..

anything to do with his contract negotiations last year. I found it odd that he was only extended a year. Was that just bookkeeping or was Byrne sending a message back then? At the time, I couldn't imagine Byrne being "down" on Stans but then again he's Byrne and hecan see into the future.

What really disappoints me is that the team doesn't seem to have the will to win. When another team makes a run, if we don't make a quick 3 to break their momentum then we kind of stand around and say well 17.

maybe Rick was trying to make changes but no one could hear him over the 37 fans that braved the ice storm.

The second half was the rule. I blame everyone on help defense for not ONCE attempting to take a charge from Fortson. Not ONCE.

We probably will get a spot in the dance, and if so, he'll be back.

The outside shooting-heavy nature doesn't bother me--it's how we run our offense. So often it is on of our guards just running around a top-of-the-key screen back and forth. We shoot so many bad shots out of this offense.

I don't understand why we don't utilize our quickness and move the ball around more. We don't have dribblers, why run an offense so dependent on moving with the ball?
